Miss Thanakporn Nontachart runs technical meetings on PM2.5 cooperation with NIM China and VMI
National Institute of Metrology (NIMT) organized a co-meeting on the project of PM10 and PM2.5 from haze smog and visibility Effective in Thailand. There were 3 agencies attending the meeting, namely, The National Institute of Metrology of China (NMI), Vietnam Metrology Institute (VMI), and National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT). Each party reported progress and discussed action plans to schedule a research trip at NMI in 2023. This meeting, there were ten attendees as follows.

In this meeting, Miss Thanakporn Nontachart, International Relations Officer, was the project manager and coordinator among them.
The PM10 and PM 2.5 from Haze Smog and Visibility Effect in Thailand is funded by the Lancang-Mekong Special Fund (LMC Special Fund) of the People’s Republic of China to standard measurement of PM2.5 and PM10 dust. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, the project has been rescheduled upon the current situation. Finally, the project will be expected that the project will be completed by 2023. The meeting was held online at Phadung Matra Building, NIMT, Pathum Thani province on 11 November 2022.

Dr.Charun Yafa runs The 4th Designated Institutes Meeting at NIMT
On 19 October 2022, Assistant Director Dr.Charun Yafa presided over the 4th Designated Institutes Meeting (DIs Meeting) together with NIMT International Relations Officers Dr.Natthaphon Jarat and Miss Thanakporn Nontachart and DIs incharge-persons from other DIs agencies. In the meeting, each DIs updated their current status and activities that have been designated and discussed to establish a committee to take responsibility for the DIs of Thailand.

The 2nd Designated Institutes Meeting
Assistant Director Dr.Charun Yafa was a chairperson for The 2nd Designated Institutes meeting (DIs Meeting). There were 3 institutes attended the meeting consisting of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) and Department of Medical Sciences (Bureau of Radiation and Medical Devices, and Bureau of Quality and Safety and Food).
Dr.Charun talked about the metrology trends that are challenging to DIs today and gave his policy to continue cooperation among the DIs. Chairperson suggested to DIs that should apply its application for becoming a APMP member (Asia Pacific Metrology Programme) to receive any updates from other member in the Asia-Pacific region.
This meeting, International Relations Officers (IRO) Dr.Natthaphon Jarat and Ms.Thanakporn Nontachart were attended as the meeting secretariat as well as described how to submit APMP member application and writing an APMP report.The meeting was held online from Phadung Matra building, NIMT Pathum Thani province on 9 February 2022.

NIMT attends The 2nd LMC Coordinating Working Group Meeting (Zoom meeting)
On 25 January 2022, Assistant Director Dr.Charun Yafa, together with International Relations Officers, Dr.Natthaphon Jarat and Miss Thanakporn Nontachart attended the 2nd Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Coordinating Working Group Meeting (LMC-CWG) via Zoom application. There were 6 representatives of National Institute of Metrology (NIMs) and related agencies from Mekong sub-regional countries joined the meeting – National Metrology Center of Cambodia (NMC), National Institute of Metrology of China (NIM), The Department of Standardization and Metrology of Laos PDR. (DoSM), The Department of Research and Innovation of Myanmar (DRI), Vietnam Metrology Institute (VMI) and National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT).

Assistant Director Dr.Charun Yafa, together with International Relations Officers, Dr.Natthaphon Jarat and Miss Thanakporn Nontachart took a zoom group photo with all participants.
This meeting focuses on actions defined in the minutes of 1st LMC CWG meeting and identifying priorities for implementing LMC in 2022, including Proposal for Establishing the LMC Working Mechanism, priorities for technical training, especially on medical metrology as a priority area, and Initiative on Improving Metrological Traceability within Lancang – Mekong Region. The meeting was successful and well-participated by each countries. Next meeting will be summarized and presented survey-needed courses that each countries have raised urgently. This working group becomes the greatest metrological cooperation within the sub-region supported by NIM China.

Instrument control system complies with ISO9001 ISO17025 ISO14001 and ISO18001 training (Online)
NIMT is organizing a course in “Instrument control system complies with ISO9001 ISO17025 ISO14001 and ISO18001” that is online between 26 – 27 October 2021 from NIMT Phatum Thani.
The course is taught by Dr.Monthon Homklintian, a professional metrologist in direct current, low frequency, high frequency and electromagnetics. Almost attendees are people working as engineers, instrument calibration technicians, instrument quality control managers in the factories. Dr.Monthon is talking about the overview of the national quality infrastructure (NQI), traceability, and uncertainty assessment. He also teaches over the metrological requirements complying with ISO9001 ISO17025 ISO14001 and ISO18001. This course has received well feedbacks and opened continuously.

NIMT joins the virtual conference in ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week
NIMT is joining in virtual conference and exhibition in the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week between 14 – 16 October 2021. The ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week is the major international exhibition on technology, renewable energy and energy conservation in Asian region. The exhibition will be presented online as 24 hours virtual platform. Besides that, NIMT will be able to introduce itself on this platform. In the conference, NIMT will be held seminars on “The importance of Metrology” and “The Efficient Use of Energy”. The seminars were separated into 3 topics that will be talked by NIMT professional metrologists in connection with;
1) “Development of metrology for energy in Thailand and Asia Pacific Region” by Dr.Oijai Ongrai,

2) “Fairness of energy by fluid mechanic” by Dr.Patipat Wongthep and,

3) “Energy saving and production cost reducing by temperature metrology” by Dr.-Ing. Narudom Noulkhow.

The conference and exhibition will be met the industrial sectors needs that help them to save and sustain the energy efficiently. Importantly, they can reduce their production cost.

Training on “Mathematical model for the uncertainty measurement and calibration’s assessment”
Corporation and Partnership Development Group under the Policy and Strategy Department organised a training on “Mathematical Model for Assessment in the Uncertainty of Measurement and Calibration” online. This training organised for the participants from various organisations of public and private sectors. It was lectured by NIMT two professional metrologists, Dr.Monthol Homklintian, an expert in primary electrical, time and frequency standards and Mrs.Natenapit Khunmthukthip, an expert in direct current, low frequency, high frequency and electromagnetic fields. The aims of the training were to gain knowledge about the guidelines for measurement modelling to design measurement models and to enable to assess the uncertainty of measurement and calibration. The seminar was held online from Matra Dhamrong Building, NIMT during April 22 –23, 2021.
