NIMT runs training on “Control system for measuring instruments according to the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001” Batch 3


NIMT Organized an online course training on “Control system for measuring instruments according to the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001” Batch 3 to participants from both the public and private sectors. A trainer of the course was Dr. Monthon Homklintian, Acting Leader of Primary Electrical, Time and Frequency Standard Group. The purpose of the course is to understand the national metrology system and National Quality Infrastructure (NQI), understanding the importance of accurate measurements and metrological traceability, how to assess the uncertainty, and the requirements for measuring instrument accuracy and the metrological traceability in accordance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001. Besides that, the participants will be able to manage the measuring instrument control system according to the requirements. This training was online at the developing measurement standards to support the rail system development building, NIMT, Pathum Thani province on May 26 – 27, 2022.

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn chairs the 1st/2022 meeting of the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has overseen the 1st/2022 meeting of the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn via electronic media. On March 1, 2022 Her Royal Highness chaired the online meeting located at Sa Pathum Palace, Bangkok. On this occasion, NIMT officers Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Head of Deaprtment and Dr. Piyaphat Phoonthong, Metrologist Professional Level attended the meeting. In the previous year, the foundation created cooperation with the world class science institutes. It was the great opportunity for Thai scientists to exchange and co-research for example, Atomic clock project between NIMT and Center for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore is a Research Centre of Excellence hosted by the National University of Singapore. Presently, two institutes are joining the research and developing the atomic clock which is the NQI for Thailand. NIMT develop and show metrology competency in equivalent to the world class research institute.

NIMT at the “Thailand National Science and Technology Fair 2021” during 9 -19 November 2021

At IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi province on 10 November 2021, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-O-Cha presided over the opening ceremony of “Thailand National Science and Technology Fair 2021” that was held during 9 – 19 November 2021. The fair was emphasized the extension of education opportunity, reducing inequality, developing young people to have the skills of the future, ready to bring knowledge “Science and Arts” create innovations to drive Thailand’s economy. There were 6 countries and 80 agencies from the public and privates sectors joining the fair. It was organized annually by the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research & Innovation (MHESI).

PM said, “Science is an important sector that is related to the educational system development. Moreover, learning is an important tool to build people for the future. So, they must not be limited to access to knowledge. The future world is huge with a wide range of knowledge. People can learn everywhere boundlessly. Technology and Innovation must be the basic of Thai people’s knowledge. It must be combined education in and out of the classroom continuously for all ages”

Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas said, “Thailand National Science and Technology Fair 2021 is held under the concept of “Art-Science – Innovation and Creative Economy “BCG Model: Bio – Circular – Green Economy to communicate academic contents in accordance with outstanding policies consisting of Science Technology & Innovation creative thinking that is harmonized the aspect of Arts to be developing Thailand’s creative economy, and the holistic economic development of BCG Model, that is “Bio Circular Green Economy”. Including to celebrating the important event in the world’s science and society in 2021, that is “International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development”. The most important target of the fair is to fetch this fair to change the thinking system of Thai people. Let them be interested in science. Change their points of view that science is fun, exciting, worth-learning and tangible by varieties of learning to support activities. Throughout 15 years, Thailand National Science and Technology Fair has contributed to the creation of a scientific society, wisdom society to young men and people more than 15 million people who has been ever visited the fair across Thailand . It is the creation of a new culture for whom likes to seek knowledge. The fair creates way and style as hybrid watching. People can visit on-site or watch online. And it is hoped that Thai children and young people including Thai society that able to raise their level of knowledge, motivation, and build scientific culture in Thai society. In order to bring Thailand to the nation of science and innovation in the future”

This year, NIMT was exhibited on the theme “NQI develops Thai herb to the world”. It was orchestrated a story about National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) that supports herb safety chain to be a pilot study from Fha Talai Joen (Green chiretta or Andrographis paniculata). Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and health care trend by natural way and chemical avoidance. Hears become one of the natural material for health and wellness business sectors around the world. The Thai government recognizes a variety of opportunities to gain income to Thai agriculturists. It generates business returns to Thai entrepreneurs sustainably. NIMT sets policies to promote the herbal production chain at all levels from upstream, midstream to downstream. NQI will be one process to lift Thai herb, unlock business limits. NQI will be one of the processes to lift up Thai herb, unlock business limits, and build economic value added to Thailand. It leads to building standards and safety including to build consumer confidence and raise Thai herbal products to be sold in both domestic and abroad.

“NQI develops Thai herb to the world” is a project under the NQI development cooperation among NIMT, Phatum Thani Provincial Health Office , and Nong Sua hospital Ministry of Health to support Thai herbal development. There are 5 elements consisting of S : Standards, M : Metrology, A : Accreditation, C : Conformity Assessment and M : Market Surveillance. It is the NQI system that will be impelled Thai herbal market to the international trade sustainably. Instrument control system complies with ISO9001 ISO17025 ISO14001 and ISO18001 training (Online)

NIMT is organizing a course in “Instrument control system complies with ISO9001 ISO17025 ISO14001 and ISO18001” that is online between 26 – 27 October 2021 from NIMT Phatum Thani.
The course is taught by Dr.Monthon Homklintian, a professional metrologist in direct current, low frequency, high frequency and electromagnetics. Almost attendees are people working as engineers, instrument calibration technicians, instrument quality control managers in the factories. Dr.Monthon is talking about the overview of the national quality infrastructure (NQI), traceability, and uncertainty assessment. He also teaches over the metrological requirements complying with ISO9001 ISO17025 ISO14001 and ISO18001. This course has received well feedbacks and opened continuously.

MoU signs between NIMT and UP on the metrological system development for northern area of Thailand

The first memorandum of understanding (MoU) between NIMT and UP was today signed at the Office of the President, University of Phayao, Phayao province.

Director of NIMT, Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook signed the MoU with Prescident University of Phayao (UP) Assoc.Prof.Dr. Supakorn Pongbangphoon on the 24th of December 2020. This MoU shall remain in effect for five years. The first objective is the MoU intended to ptomote bilateral cooperation in metrological curriculum design and national quality infrastructure development to UP students and staff members. The second is to develop research in metrology and transfer technology to the education and industrial sectors. The third is to support both institutes’ personel development in order to gain conpetencies that two institutes are agreed.

University of Phayao (UP) is the biggest university in Phayao province in morthern Thailand. The university is organized into 18 schools. It focuses on health scieces and technologies. With this MoU, NIMT and UP will support together tighting cooperations to publicize metrology in the northern Thailand.

NIMT signs a five-year agreement with Pathum Thani Provincial Public Health Office on NQI driving Thai herb industries

Currently, Thai herb products have been increasingly demanding for consumers thanks to consumers are tending to care their health more than the past. The herbs are mostly used for treating, preventing, prognostic, and maintaining health to the Thai people. It means that the herbs are general in the Thai people way of life.

NIMT ,as the national metrological standards’ keeper, has a mutual cooperation with Pathum Thani Provincial Public Health Office, as the herb products units in Pathum Thani province where NIMT is located. The herb products is one of the multi-project under the project “NQI for Thai herb support and development”.

On this event, Director of NIMT, Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook and her assistant director, Flg. Off. Uthai Noranim attended a meeting on signing an MOU agreement with Pathum Thani Provincial Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Surin Suebsung, Pathum Thani Provincial Public Health Office to strengthen mutual cooperation in NQI (National Quality Infrastructure) to support Thai herb production on the date of 10 November 2020 at Pathum Thani Provincial Public Health Office, Pathum Thani province.

NIMT has facilitated to the local manufacturing sectors to contribute NQI’s body of knowledge building and production chain development for Thai herb products to be met the quality throughout upstream to downstream.

NIMT and Pathum Thani Provincial Public Health Office will promote an agriculturist to cultivate Thai herbs as Good Agricultural Practice System (GAP). Two organizations will make a pilot plant in the area of Nong Sua general hospital to get a certification of GMA (Good Manufacturing Practice) that will lead NQI for Thai herb products to be accepted internationally.

Additionally, the element of NQI consists of 5 things that are Standards, Metrology, Accreditation, Conformity Assessment, and Market Surveillance (abbrev; SMACAM). Especially, M or Metrology is a direct line of NIMT that is able to carry and drive the development of Traceability Chain which is NIMT professional duty to push up and differentiate the identity of Thai product to the world.

In the signing ceremony, 3 key NIMT NQI manpowers came together; Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Head of Electrical Metrology Department, NIMT, a pioneer in driving and improving NQI of Thailand, Dr. Charun Yafa, Head of Chemical Metrology & Biometry Department and Dr.Nongluck Tangpaisarnkul, Group Leader of Inorganic Analysis.

Director attends Farewell Meeting for Minister of MHESI

Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT attended farewell meeting for Dr.Suvit Maesincee, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) at MHESI, Rama IV Rd., Bangkok.

The minister was a chairperson of National Metrology Board. While serving as chairperson of National Metrology Board, he was a key person to further the project of National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) and greatly supported NIMT all along.
