Miss Thanakporn Nontachart runs technical meetings on PM2.5 cooperation with NIM China and VMI

National Institute of Metrology (NIMT) organized a co-meeting on the project of PM10 and PM2.5 from haze smog and visibility Effective in Thailand. There were 3 agencies attending the meeting, namely, The National Institute of Metrology of China (NMI), Vietnam Metrology Institute (VMI), and National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT). Each party reported progress and discussed action plans to schedule a research trip at NMI in 2023. This meeting, there were ten attendees as follows.

  1. Dr. Patipat Wongthep, Metrologist, Mechanical Metrology Department
  2. Dr. Patcharapol Gorgitrattanagul, Metrologist, Mechanical Metrology Department
  3. Dr. Terdsak Neadkratoke, Metrologist, Mechanical Metrology Department
  4. Dr. Narin Chanthawong, Metrologist, Dimensional Metrology Department
  5. Miss Charuayrat Yaokulbodee, Head of Temperature and Optical Metrology Department
  6. Dr. Thada Kaewprasert, Metrologist, Temperature and Optical Metrology Department
  7. Mr. Thasorn Singhaneti, Metrologist, Department of Temperature and Optical Metrology
  8. Mr. Pollawat Jumparuang, Metrologist, Temperature and Optical Metrology Department
  9. Miss Benjarat Ngansulong, Laboratory staff Dimensional Metrology Department
  10. Dr. Natthaphon Jarat, International Relations Officer, Professional Organizational Communication Group (International Relations Office)

In this meeting, Miss Thanakporn Nontachart, International Relations Officer, was the project manager and coordinator among them.

The PM10 and PM 2.5 from Haze Smog and Visibility Effect in Thailand is funded by the Lancang-Mekong Special Fund (LMC Special Fund) of the People’s Republic of China to standard measurement of PM2.5 and PM10 dust. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, the project has been rescheduled upon the current situation. Finally, the project will be expected that the project will be completed by 2023. The meeting was held online at Phadung Matra Building, NIMT,  Pathum Thani province on 11 November 2022.

NIMT joins the virtual conference in ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week

NIMT is joining in virtual conference and exhibition in the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week between 14 – 16 October 2021. The ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week is the major international exhibition on technology, renewable energy and energy conservation in Asian region. The exhibition will be presented online as 24 hours virtual platform. Besides that, NIMT will be able to introduce itself on this platform. In the conference, NIMT will be held seminars on “The importance of Metrology” and “The Efficient Use of Energy”. The seminars were separated into 3 topics that will be talked by NIMT professional metrologists in connection with;

1) “Development of metrology for energy in Thailand and Asia Pacific Region” by Dr.Oijai Ongrai,

2) “Fairness of energy by fluid mechanic” by Dr.Patipat Wongthep and,

3) “Energy saving and production cost reducing by temperature metrology” by Dr.-Ing. Narudom Noulkhow.

The conference and exhibition will be met the industrial sectors needs that help them to save and sustain the energy efficiently. Importantly, they can reduce their production cost.

NIMT organizes a seminar on “The Energy Performance Measurement of Water Cooler and its best practice to calibration in order to enhance measurement accuracy and energy efficiency verification”

July 24, 2020 at Rama Garden Hotel Bangkok: National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) organised a seminar on The Energy Performance Measurement of Water Cooler and its best practice to calibration in order to enhance measurement accuracy and energy efficiency verification.

The seminar objectives were to publicize research results and exchange ideas with related stakeholders to measure the performance of water coolers that are accorded to the standards or followed as the agreement (< 5 %) that the measure in the water cooler system must be verified and calibrated correctly.

This research is running by NIMT teams; Dr.Patipat Wongthep Fluid Mechanics Group’s Metrologist, Professional, Dr.Tanya Kochawat Electrical Power and High-accuracy Electrical Measuring Instrument Group’s Metrologist, Professional, and Dr.Thada Keawprasert Temperature Scale Dissemination and Humidity Group’s Metrologist, Professional. The teams have developed 3 best practice guidebooks and will publicize. The research sponsorship is supported by The Thailand Research Fund (TRF) and  Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).

Under strengthened cooperation, the results of research will be beneficial to Thailand.

Opening a new service: Pressure Metrological Traceability Chain of Ventilator Machine

A ventilator, aka “Breathing machine” is a machine that some COVID-19 patients need help to breathe. It is used to aid the function of the lungs to blow air into the lungs, helping to maintain proper levels of oxygen in the blood.
NIMT realizes that the standard measurement for the machine is highly important. In order to reduce a risk from any errors and treatment. Therefore, NIMT opens a new calibration service for the ventilator so far.
