The National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) participated in the 45th Meeting of the ASEAN Consultative Committee on Standards and Quality Working Group 3 (ACCSQ-WG3), the 15th Meeting of the ASEAN Experts Group on Metrology (EGM-15), and the 1st Joint EGM-WG3 Meeting, held from 19–23 October 2026 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
NIMT was represented by Ms. Charuayrat Yaokulbodee, Head of the Thermometry and Optical Metrology Department and Quality Manager, and Ms. Thanakporn Nontachart, International Relations Officer.
The meetings provided an important platform for ASEAN Member States to exchange views, share developments, and strengthen regional cooperation in scientific and legal metrology. Discussions focused on advancing the ASEAN metrology framework and enhancing collaboration to support regional trade, consumer protection, and economic integration.
Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation between EGM and ACCSQ-WG3 through joint initiatives, clearer working arrangements, and coordinated activities.
NIMT’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international cooperation, contributing technical expertise, and supporting the development of a harmonised and sustainable metrology system across ASEAN.
