NIMT Representatives Participate in the International Conference on Weighing (ICW 2026) in Japan

Dr. Jariya Buajarern, Metrology Expert, and Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Manager, from NIMT, participated in the International Conference on Weighing (ICW 2026), held in Japan from 8–10 June 2026. The NIMT delegation also held discussions with the Japan Measuring Instruments Federation (JMIF) to explore potential areas of collaboration in metrology, innovation, and capacity building between the two organizations, held in Japan on 5 June 2026.

The conference brought together leading experts, researchers, and metrology professionals from around the world to discuss recent developments and emerging trends in weighing technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), software assurance, and cybersecurity in metrology.

During the conference, Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree was invited to serve as the Session Chair for the session on Legal Metrology – Theme: DX/Software/Security, reflecting international recognition of her expertise and NIMT’s growing role in the global metrology community.

In addition, Dr. Jariya Buajarern presented a technical paper entitled “Pilot Study on Calibration and Verification of In-line Vision Measurement Systems in Alignment with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.” The presentation highlighted a pilot study on the calibration and verification of vision measurement systems installed in automated production lines, emphasizing measurement reliability and traceability to support quality control in modern manufacturing industries, particularly the automotive sector.

Participation in ICW 2026 provided valuable opportunities for NIMT to exchange knowledge with international experts, strengthen research collaborations, and gain insights into the future directions of Digital Metrology, Smart Manufacturing, and Metrology 4.0. The conference also enhanced NIMT’s visibility and contribution to the international metrology community.
