Pol.Lt.Gen. Pornchai Suteerakune, Director of NIMT, together with Mr. Anusorn Thonmuenwai, Deputy Director, warmly welcomed delegates from the Uzbek National Institute of Metrology (UzNIM) on the occasion of their participation in training in Time and Frequency, held during 5–16 January 2026 at NIMT.
Under the Time and Frequency program, Ms. Lyubov Gazieva, Mr. Vihobjon Nishonov, and Mr. Khojiakbar Rakhimov, from the Time and Frequency Laboratory, UzNIM, attended technical training entitled “Calibration of frequency counters using time and frequency standard based on caesium atomic clock including development of calibration procedure.” The training focused on frequency counter calibration techniques, the application of cesium clock–based time and frequency standards, and the development of reliable calibration procedures in accordance with international best practices.
The training was delivered by experts from NIMT, including Dr. Thayathip Thongtan, Dr. Piyaphat Phoonthong, and Dr. Rattakorn Kaewuam, from Primary Electrical, Time and Frequency standards Group, Electrical Metrology Department.
This program was conducted under the PTB project “Support to the Reform of the National Quality Infrastructure in Uzbekistan Phase II,” which aims to strengthen Uzbekistan’s measurement capabilities in line with international standards. The program combined in-depth theoretical sessions with hands-on practical exercises, enabling participants to enhance their technical competencies and directly apply the acquired knowledge within their laboratories.
The successful completion of this Time and Frequency training marks an important milestone in advancing UzNIM’s capabilities in time and frequency measurements. It also further strengthened the collaborative partnership among NIMT, PTB, and UzNIM, laying a strong foundation for continued cooperation and future joint initiatives.
