NIMT is pleased to share the successful completion of a technical knowledge exchange activity by Ms. Panatda Panpech, Metrology Expert from NIMT, conducted at the Uzbek National Institute of Metrology (UzNIM).
This activity was carried out under the trilateral collaboration between NIMT, UzNIM, and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), as part of PTB’s project “Supporting the Reform of the National Quality Infrastructure II in Uzbekistan.”
From 3 to 14 November 2025, Ms. Panatda served as the expert for a technical programme on the realization of fixed points and the calibration of Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometers (SPRT) in accordance with the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90). The programme combined theoretical and practical sessions, covering:
- Principles of SPRT calibration and measurement uncertainty evaluation
- Practical realization of fixed points from Mercury to Aluminium, including Water Triple Point and Gallium
- Data processing, uncertainty calculation, and technical discussion sessions
The training aimed to strengthen technical capabilities and promote effective knowledge transfer to UzNIM staff, contributing to the sustainable development of temperature metrology in the region.
This successful activity reflects NIMT’s continued commitment to international cooperation and its active role in supporting capacity building among partner National Metrology Institutes.
