Dr. Nunnapus Laitip, Metrologist from NIMT, successfully carried out an expert consultancy mission to Jakarta, Indonesia, on 13–14 November 2025, under the framework of technical cooperation with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB).
The mission was conducted as part of the PTB cooperation project “Strengthening Quality Infrastructure Services for Environmental and Climate Monitoring, Indonesia.” The consultancy aimed to support national partners, including the National Measurement Standard – National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (SNSU-BSN) and environmental laboratories in Indonesia, in strengthening their capabilities to provide proficiency testing (PT) schemes for parameters relevant to industrial wastewater and surface water monitoring.
Building on the successful implementation of earlier activities, the consultancy specifically supported Pusarpedal, an Indonesian environmental laboratory, in preparing for a second proficiency testing scheme. During the on-site sessions, Dr. Nunnapus provided expert technical advice, shared best practices, and offered practical recommendations to enhance the robustness, reliability, and international alignment of PT organization and implementation.
This expert mission reflects NIMT’s continued commitment to international knowledge transfer and regional cooperation, contributing to improved environmental measurement quality and strengthened quality infrastructure in support of sustainable development and climate monitoring in Indonesia.
