Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree, representing NIMT, delivered a short national contribution during a special online event marking the conclusion of the 150th anniversary of the Metre Convention (BIPM150), organized by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM).
The event, held on 10 December 2025, brought together the global metrology community to reflect on a landmark year celebrating the legacy of the Metre Convention—which laid the foundation for international cooperation in measurement science and established the BIPM as one of the world’s earliest international organizations.
On behalf of NIMT, Dr. Sivinee shared Thailand’s BIPM150-related activities and national engagement, highlighting NIMT’s contributions to strengthening measurement standards, international traceability, and collaboration within the global metrology system.
The programme also featured:
– Reflections on the impact of BIPM150 by Martin Milton, Director of the BIPM
– Video highlights from the BIPM150 celebrations held earlier in the year
– Closing remarks and a forward-looking perspective toward 2026 by Annette Koo, Director Designate of the BIPM
NIMT is proud to be part of this historic global milestone and remains committed to advancing international metrology cooperation in support of science, industry, trade, and sustainable development.
