NIMT Participates in M4DConf 2025 to Strengthen International Collaboration in Digital Metrology

The National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT), represented by Dr. Narin Chanthawong, Group Leader of Nano Metrology, and Ms. Sunantiya Parana, Metrologist from the Dimensional Metrology Department, attended the M4DConf 2025 (International Conference on Metrology and Digital Transformation) to present research work, exchange knowledge, and strengthen international collaboration networks in the field of digital metrology.

M4DConf 2025 is an international platform bringing together experts, researchers, and representatives from national metrology institutes, standard organizations, and industries worldwide to exchange ideas and experiences on the digital transformation. Key topics included Digital Calibration Certificates (DCC), data distribution through cloud systems, sensor networks for Industry 4.0/IoT, and data management practices aligned with the FAIR principles.

During the conference, Dr. Narin Chanthawong served as Session Chair in Session 3.2 – Advancing Sensor Network Metrology for Industry 4.0 and IoT Applications, focusing on the development of metrology for sensor network systems and industrial deployment. Ms. Sunantiya Parana presented her work titled “Digitalization of Calibration Workflow at the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT)”, highlighting the digitalization of calibration processes and cloud-based data connectivity to enhance efficiency.

Participation in this conference not only enhanced knowledge and expertise of NIMT’s personnel in digital metrology, but also fostered international collaboration networks, created opportunities for collaborative research and standards, and stimulated the implementation of Digital-to-Cloud and DCC approaches in the calibration process. These efforts will support industry and cross-border trade while reinforcing NIMT’s role as a key player in the global metrology community.

The M4DConf 2025 was organized by IMEKO TC-6 in Benevento, Italy.
