On 12 September 2025, the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT), led by Pol.Lt.Gen. Pornchai Suteerakune, Director of NIMT, visited the Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz (BfS) in Germany. The meeting was honored by the presence of Dr. Inge Paulini, President of BfS, who personally welcomed our Thai delegation.
The visit provided an important opportunity for both institutes to share knowledge and experiences in radiation protection and measurement standards. Key discussion topics included:
– Emergency preparedness in radiation-related scenarios
– Technical advances in medicine involving radiation applications
– Radon monitoring and control
– UV radiation impacts and protection
– Electromagnetic field measurement and safety
This visit underlines NIMT’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation and advancing Thailand’s capabilities in the field of radiation metrology, ensuring public health and safety while supporting technological progress.
