The National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT), led by Pol.Lt.Gen. Pornchai Suteerakune, Director of NIMT, visited the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Germany from September 9 to 13, 2025.
The visit aimed to enhance collaboration in key areas of metrology, with a strong focus on renewable energy, radiometry, and quantum technologies. These are topics of growing importance for both institutes as they contribute to advancing sustainable development and innovation in Asia and Europe.
During the program, the NIMT delegation was warmly welcomed by PTB’s President, Prof. Dr. Cornelia Denz, and Vice President, Dr. Frank Härtig. The delegation also engaged in fruitful discussions with PTB’s scientific experts, exploring opportunities for strengthening research cooperation and development partnerships across Asia.
A highlight of the visit was the opportunity to exchange knowledge directly with PTB researchers, paving the way for joint projects and long-term collaboration. The delegation also took part in PTB’s Open House Day, gaining insights into how advanced metrology is shared with the wider community.
NIMT greatly values its strong partnership with PTB, recognizing it as a foundation for advancing precision measurement, innovation, and regional development. This visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of both institutes to deepen scientific cooperation and drive progress in emerging fields of metrology.
