NIMT Expert provides onsite follow-up training on Dead Weight Tester Calibration in Sri Lanka

Mr. Likit Sainoo from the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) visited Sri Lanka to serve as an expert in the onsite follow-up training program on “Dead Weight Tester (DWT)/Pressure Balance (PB)” held on 5 – 13 August 2025 at MUSSD, Sri Lanka.

The mission aimed to access readiness and provided additional hands-on training for the calibration of Dead Weight Testers and Pressure Balances. A key activity involved comparing measurement results between MUSSD and NIMT laboratories to validate MUSSD’s capabilities under this collaborative project. This effort was conducted by the “Absolute Pressure Interlaboratory Comparison, Rang 7-70 bar,” reinforcing technical competence and strengthening international metrology cooperation between the two institutes.

Through this training, NIMT continues to support regional capacity building and promote high standards of measurement accuracy, ensuring mutual confidence in calibration results across laboratories.
