23 July 2025 – A delegation from the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) attended the 13th ASEAN Expert Group on Metrology Meeting (EGM-13) hosted by the National Metrology Institute of Malaysia (NMIM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The primary objective of the EGM-13 was to convene the representatives from National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) across ASEAN to engage in technical dialogues, exchange expertise and technologies, and address key metrological issues. The meeting also served as a platform to raise awareness on developments in metrology, with particular emphasis on ongoing regional projects and shared areas of interest, ultimately aimed at enhancing regional cooperation and strengthening the measurement capabilities of NMIs in pursuit of international recognition.
24 July 2025 – The program continued with technical visits to leading corporations in Malaysia, including:
- CelcomDigi AI Experience Centre – a prominent technology and innovation service provider known for its contributions to AI and digital transformation.
- Petronas KLCC – Malaysia’s flagship energy corporation engaged in oil and gas exploration, production, and refining.
These visits provided delegates with valuable exposure to cutting-edge technologies and emerging global trends, enriching their knowledge and practical insights for application in their respective fields. The program highlighted NMIs’ ongoing commitment to expanding their knowledge base and fostering strategic international partnerships in alignment with the region’s high-tech development goals.
The EGM-13 was more than just a gathering of NMI delegations—it embodied the ‘traditional spirit of ASEAN cordiality and solidarity,’ the motto that defines the essence of the ASEAN Expert Group on Metrology.
