29 July 2025 – A delegation from the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT), led by Pol.Lt.Gen. Pornchai Suteerakune, Director of NIMT, participated in the 5th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Symposium in Metrology and Related Activities. The event hosted by the National Institute of Metrology (NIM), China, in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the People’s Republic of China.
The symposium was presided over by Dr. Li Wentao, Director General of NIM, and Mr. Ji Erming, Vice Director General, Administration for Market Regulation of Guangxi Zhung Autonomous Region (GXAMR).
Under the theme “Advancing Clean Energy Cooperation for a Green and Sustainable Region,” the symposium featured expert presentations, including Ms. Charuayrat Yaokulbodee, Head of Thermometry and Optical Metrology Department of NIMT. Ms. Charuayrat delivered a presentation titled “Progress for Renewable Energy in Thailand,” offering insights into recent advancements and trends in the country’s renewable energy sector, with a particular focus on photovoltaic (PV) technologies and their contributions to both Thailand and the broader LMC region.
During the panel discussion on key challenges and solutions in PV metrology development, Ms. Charuayrat served as a panelist, sharing her visionary perspective on the crucial role of PV metrology. She emphasized its significance in addressing global challenges and driving sustainable development at all levels.
The 5th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Symposium in Metrology and Related Activities served as a vital platform for delegates from the NMIs of LMC countries to reaffirm their shared commitment and foster meaningful collaboration toward sustainable development in the field of metrology.
