On 21 June 2025, the delegates from NIMT, led by Pol.Lt.Gen. Pornchai Suteerakune, Director of NIMT, toured the TSMC Museum of Innovation (MOI) in Hsinchu Science Park. This engaging visit immersed the delegation in the rich history and advanced technologies that underpin modern semiconductor manufacturing.
The Museum of Innovation, a premier venue dedicated to showcasing TSMC’s influential role in the semiconductor industry, features three main galleries:
– A World of Innovation: tracing the integration of ICs into daily life
– Unleashing Innovation: spotlighting TSMC’s pure-play foundry model
– Dr. Morris Chang, TSMC Founder: exhibiting the founder’s life and legacy
During the guided tour, the NIMT delegation experienced interactive displays, visual storytelling, and immersive exhibits—including VR elements—designed to make complex technological breakthroughs accessible. NIMT delegates learned how TSMC’s innovations have propelled Taiwan’s semiconductor leadership and shaped the global digital economy.
Through this firsthand experience, NIMT’s leadership gained valuable inspiration on leveraging measurement science to uphold precision, quality, and innovation in Thailand’s metrology and semiconductor sectors. The visit underscores NIMT’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its knowledge base and fostering strategic international collaboration in support of Thailand’s high-tech aspirations.
