Khao Yai National Park, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has carried out a prototype project to enhance the environmental quality affected by air and noise vehicles. In order to integrate with similar duty agencies, namely, Acoustics and Vibration Group National Institute of Metrology (NIMT), Pollution Control Department (PCD), and the Regional Environment Office 11 Nakhon Ratchasima jointly organized activities at Khao Yai National Park on 7-8 July 2022.
For this matter, Head of Khao Yai National Park Mr. Chaiya Huayhongthong assigned to Assistant Head of Khao Yai National Park Mr. Termsak Noinarai and his officers welcomed Group leader of Acoustics and Vibration Mr.Pairoj Rattanangkul, NIMT metrologists and PCD officers.
Mr.Tersak led 135 national park vehicles to check for black smoke and noise measurements by NIMT and PCD. It is a pilot and prototype project to reduce the environmental impact from the vehicles to screen them before entering the conservation area which is a standard ecotourism place in order to reduce the impact on the quality of life of wildlife Tourism. The project is called the “Government Cars reduce Pollution” project which encourages the use of government vehicles by not-supporting air and noise emissions lower than the standards criteria. It corresponds to the plan of action on resolving the pollution of PM2.5 caused by incomplete combustion. The project runs under the research physical property in the metrology of the cheapest noise meters that comply with the standards and function to vehicle noise meters.
