NIMT celebrates Science road activity for Thai children’s day 2023

NIMT joined with National Science Museum (NSM) and other agencies under the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation (MHESI) celebrated Science road for Children’s day 2023 with the concept on “KIDS SCIENCE, KIDS WORLDBUILDING” on January 13 – 14, 2023 at the 5th Fl. The Street Center Ratchada Bangkok.

It was honored to have an expression of wish by the minister of MHESI, Adjunct Professor Dr. Anek Laothamatas via the video conference for the opening ceremony. A representative of NIMT Khun Pairoj Rattanangkul, Head of Acoustics and Vibration Group attended the ceremony.

This year, NIMT had an activity on “Let’s know Measuring devices” to demonstrate and present selecting measuring devices, for example, weighing instruments, length measuring instruments and temperature measuring tools which are generally sold in the market. Kids will know how to select suitable measuring tools by playing games; metrology crossword, SI Unit maze. The children were enjoying the games and got a basic knowledge of metrology cheerfully.

Dr. Charun Yafa Assistant Director meets Director-General of Meteorological Department

Assistant Director Dr.Charun Yafa, together with Mr.Pairoj Rattanangkul, Head of Acoustics and Vibration Group met Director-General of Meteorological Department Ms.Chomparee Chompurat to advise and discuss about mutual cooperation on metrology especially earthquake that is related to acoustics and vibration. The meeting was held at The Meteorological Department of Thailand, Sukhumvit Road, Bangna, Bangkok on January 10, 2023.

Mr.Pairoj Rattanangkul as NIMT representative led NIMT staff members to pay tribute and remember the passing of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej

On 13 October 2022, Group leader of acoustics and vibration Mr. Pairoj Rattanangkul as NIMT representative led NIMT staff members to pay tribute and remember the passing of His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). At the ceremony, The ceremony organized the merit making and food offering to the monks to commemorate the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, 13 October 2022. The merit making and food offering were presided over by Prof. Dr. Sirirurg Songsivilai, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher, together with his executive team. The event was attended by officials and representatives of the agencies under MHESI. The ceremony was held at the 1FL. Press room, the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation (MHESI), Phaya Thai Rd., Bangkok.

Every year on August 18 is National Science Day in Thailand for in remembrance of HM King Rama IV, (Phra Bat Somdet Phra Menthora Ramathibodi Sri Sinthara Mahamakut Phra Mongkut Phra Siam Deva Mahamakut Wittaya Maharaj).

On 11 August 2022, Mr.Pairoj Rattanangkul, Head of Acoustics and Vibration Group was a representative of NIMT attended the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother’s 90th Birthday Anniversary 12 August 2022 at the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation (MHESI), Bangkok.

At the ceremony, Prof. Sirirurg Songsivilai, M.D., PhD., Permanent Secretary of MHESI, led the executives from agencies in the affiliation of MHESI at ceremony to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother’s 90th Birthday Anniversary, 12 August 2022. The ceremony was attended by ministry high level officials, ministry staff and representatives from MHESI agencies. The ceremony was held at Ministry’s Press room (1st Fl.) Phra Jom Khlao building, MHESI on 11 August 2022.

Pairoj Rattanangkul checks black smoke and noise pollution for Khao Yai National Park’s vehicles

Khao Yai National Park, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has carried out a prototype project to enhance the environmental quality affected by air and noise vehicles. In order to integrate with similar duty agencies, namely, Acoustics and Vibration Group National Institute of Metrology (NIMT), Pollution Control Department (PCD), and the Regional Environment Office 11 Nakhon Ratchasima jointly organized activities at Khao Yai National Park on 7-8 July 2022.

For this matter, Head of Khao Yai National Park Mr. Chaiya Huayhongthong assigned to Assistant Head of Khao Yai National Park Mr. Termsak Noinarai and his officers welcomed Group leader of Acoustics and Vibration Mr.Pairoj Rattanangkul, NIMT metrologists and PCD officers.

Mr.Tersak led 135 national park vehicles to check for black smoke and noise measurements by NIMT and PCD. It is a pilot and prototype project to reduce the environmental impact from the vehicles to screen them before entering the conservation area which is a standard ecotourism place in order to reduce the impact on the quality of life of wildlife Tourism. The project is called the “Government Cars reduce Pollution” project which encourages the use of government vehicles by not-supporting air and noise emissions lower than the standards criteria. It corresponds to the plan of action on resolving the pollution of PM2.5 caused by incomplete combustion. The project runs under the research physical property in the metrology of the cheapest noise meters that comply with the standards and function to vehicle noise meters.

Mr.Pairoj Rattanangkul, Group Leader of Acoustics and Vibration, together with his staff members, joint discussion with Mr.Pansak Thiramongkol, Director of Air Quality and Noise Management Bureau, Pollution Control Department (PCD), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on the law enforcement and the amendment of handbook of motorcycle sound level measurement (draft), prior to publish and use for training following to the Enhancement and Conservation of National Environmental Quality Act 1992, during March 16, 2021 at Pollution Control Department, Bangkok.

NIMT expert talks about “Metrology for Justice and Enforcement Standards”  to the Royal Thai Police

Mr. Pairoj Rattanangkul, Group leader of Acoustics and Vibration Group, was invited as an expert speaker on the topic “Metrology for Justice and Enforcement Standards” that lectured to the Royal Thai Police’s participants in the practical seminar about “The Efficient Development of Royal Thai Police’s Science, Technology, Research and Innovation”.

UVC germicidal lamp testing : The Prodigy Generation Prototypes

Mr. Pairoj Rattanangkul, Head of Acoustics and Vibration Group, Dr.Patchariya Petchpong, Metrologist Professional level and Mr.Pollawat Jumparuang, Mr.Natthapong Damduang and Mr.Chayut Charoenkit, Metrologist of Light and Color Group, Thermometry and Optical Metrology Department tested the performance of UV germicidal lamp and electrical safety analyzer which were three original The Prodigy Generation Co., Ltd.’s prototypes.
