The National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) or NIMT proudly hosted the Joint Workshop of APMP/Focus Group on Climate Change and Clean Air (FG CCCA) & APMP/TCQM Gas Analysis Sub-committee from August 18–20, 2026, at the Centara Grand at Central Ladprao, Bangkok.
The opening ceremony featured a welcome address by Mr. Anusorn Tonmuenwai, Deputy Director of NIMT, followed by welcoming remarks from Dr. Hong Lin, Chair of the APMP Focus Group on Climate Change and Clean Air.
The workshop gathered international and local experts to share cutting-edge insights on climate mitigation, air quality monitoring, and measurement standards through a series of key sessions:
– Decarbonization and Carbon Management: Presentations included “PTT Group Decarbonization Technology and Business” by Dr. Kanatip Ratanachoo from PTT Public Company Limited, and “Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management and Carbon Credit” by Dr. Puttipar Rotkittikhun from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO).
– Measurement and Regional Collaboration: Highlights featured “Carbon Emission Measurement Program” by Dr. Hong Lin (NIM-China), “Regional Collaboration in Action: APMP Initiatives and IAES RECAT Experiences” by Dr. Fuu Ming Kai (NMC, A*STAR, Singapore), and “RM Development of Stack Emission Gas” by Dr. Tiquang Zhang (NIM-China).
– Air Quality and PM 2.5 Studies: Sessions included “Air Quality Monitoring in Thailand” by Ms. Nittaya Chaisaard (Pollution Control Department), “NIMT PM 2.5 Study: Current Findings and Future Directions” by Dr. Patcharapol Kokitratanakul (NIMT), and bioaerosol measurement insights by Dr. Hyeongrae Kim (KRISS, South Korea).
– Advanced Gas Analysis and Metrology: The program covered “Isotope Gas Analysis at KRISS” by Dr. Hanjun Eun (KRISS), “RM Development of NH3 in Nitrogen” by Ms. Masako Masuda (CERI, Japan), and “New Metrology for Nitrous Oxide: The WNOF” by Dr. Zhechao Qu (PTB, Germany).
The event concluded with closing remarks and an update on the FG CCCA initiatives led by Dr. Hong Lin, reinforcing regional cooperation and advancements in metrology for a cleaner, sustainable future.
The workshop directly benefits Thailand by strengthening national measurement capabilities for greenhouse gases, carbon emissions, and air pollutants like PM 2.5 to meet international standards. It also supports the country’s net-zero and carbon credit goals through advanced decarbonization insights while expanding strategic partnerships with leading global metrology institutes to drive sustainable climate action.
