NIMT Representatives Participate in the 2026 APMP Mid-Year Meetings in Indonesia

Ms. Charuayrat Yaokulbodee, Head of the Thermometry and Optical Metrology Department and Quality Manager, together with Dr. Oijai Ongrai and Ms. Thanakporn Nontachart from NIMT, participated in the 2026 Asia Pacific Metrology Programme (APMP) Mid-Year Meetings, held from 13–17 July 2026 at the Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The event was hosted by the National Measurement Standards – National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (SNSU BSN).

The 2026 APMP Mid-Year Meetings brought together representatives from National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) and key stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region to exchange knowledge, strengthen technical cooperation, and promote harmonised measurement systems. The annual meetings serve as an important platform for fostering regional collaboration and advancing measurement capabilities that support trade, innovation, and sustainable development.

A highlight of this year’s programme was the APMP Symposium, held under the theme “Circular Economy for Future Sustainability.” The symposium emphasized the increasingly important role of metrology in supporting trusted measurement systems that enable resilient trade, industrial continuity, and evidence-based decision-making amid evolving global challenges. Discussions also focused on how metrology contributes to sustainability and strengthens regional alignment in standards and measurement capabilities.

NIMT’s participation in the meetings reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to active engagement in the Asia-Pacific metrology community, strengthening international partnerships, and contributing to the advancement of measurement science and quality infrastructure in support of sustainable economic and technological development.
