Dr. Nattikarn Ornthai, from NIMT, participated in the 14th Meeting of the ASEAN Metrology Network in Chemical and Biology (AMNCB), held during 5–6 May 2026 in Malaysia.
The meeting was hosted by the Department of Chemistry Malaysia (KIMIA) and brought together representatives from ASEAN member institutes to discuss ongoing and future collaborations in chemical and biological metrology. Key discussions included progress updates on joint proficiency testing (PT) programmes, supplementary comparison studies on toxic elements in health supplements, and capability-building activities related to measurement uncertainty and analytical techniques.
The meeting also provided a platform for AMNCB members to exchange technical knowledge, strengthen regional cooperation, and contribute to the development of strategic plans aimed at enhancing measurement capabilities and laboratory competencies across the ASEAN region.
In summary, Dr. Nattikarn’s participation in the meeting reinforced NIMT’s commitment to regional collaboration in chemical and biological metrology, while supporting the advancement of measurement standards, technical expertise, and quality infrastructure within the ASEAN community.
