On 23 March 2026, Pol.Lt.Gen. Pornchai Suteerakune, NIMT Director, Mr Anusorn Tonmueanwai, NIMT Deputy Director together with Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Dr. Monthol Homklintian, and teams, welcomed Mr. Kohei Isobe, representative of the JICA Expert Teams (JET), for a discussion on the Phase 2 project for capacity building and promotion of the utilization of the Thailand Integrated GNSS Reference Station Network (TIGORS2).
Mr. Kohei Isobe presented policies and planned activities aimed at enhancing the utilization of GNSS CORS data, improving data quality, and strengthening calibration and verification of GNSS equipment in Thailand. The discussion also covered approaches for knowledge and experience transfer from Japan to Thai personnel. The working team expressed its intention for NIMT to serve as the leading national authority for the calibration system and certification of GNSS equipment used in Thailand.
