The National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) is honored to welcome Mr. Taichi Yamazaki, Senior Researcher of the Organic Standards Group, Research Institute for Material and Chemical Measurement, National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ), who is serving as a technical expert at NIMT from 3–13 February 2026.
Mr. Yamazaki was invited as a specialist in quantitative Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (qNMR) to provide technical consultation on the evaluation of organic compound purity using qNMR techniques. As a primary measurement method in chemical metrology, qNMR enables the direct determination of purity and content without the need for compound-specific reference standards, while requiring only small sample quantities.
His visit is expected to strengthen the technical capabilities of NIMT metrologists, support the development of new measurement services, and enhance the production of certified reference materials for high-purity substances — including important herbal compounds and controlled substances. This collaboration will contribute to reducing Thailand’s dependence on costly imported reference materials.
NIMT sincerely appreciates Mr. Yamazaki’s valuable expertise and looks forward to continued cooperation with NMIJ in advancing chemical metrology.
