October 21, 2025 – Dr. Charun Yafa, Assistant Director of the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT), together with NIMT executive and staffs, warmly welcomed Wing Commander (Eng) Ishaq Al Shammakhi and his team from the Calibration Center under the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), Sultanate of Oman. The delegation visited NIMT to discuss technical cooperation and explore institute’s laboratories.
The visit aimed to support the establishment of a chemical metrology laboratory within the RAFO Calibration Center, enhance the competencies in the preparation and verification of certified reference materials, and develop specialized training courses for technical personnel in the field of chemical metrology. The discussion also included potential collaboration in proficiency testing (PT) programs and knowledge exchange on the operation of chemical laboratories in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034 standards.
This exchange provided NIMT with valuable insights into RAFO’s strategic direction and areas of mutual interest. The dialogue fostered opportunities for continued collaboration and knowledge sharing to promote metrology development and strengthen international partnership across the region.
