NIMT hosts Asia Pacific Metrology Summer School in Bangkok, Thailand

The National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) was honored to host the Asia Pacific Metrology Summer School from 4 to 8 August 2025, held at the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. This prestigious event brought together metrology professionals from across the Asia Pacific region for an intensive training program focused on advancing expertise in electrical measurement.

The five-day summer school concentrated on core topics including Electricity measurement, with particular emphasis on AC-DC Transfer Measurement, DC Resistance, and Impedance. The program combined in-depth lectures with practical hands-on sessions designed at an intermediate level, tailored to participants who already possessed foundational experience in these measurement disciplines. By the conclusion of the course, attendees had gained comprehensive knowledge and refined skills applicable to their respective professional roles.

The training was enriched by distinguished expert speakers, including Dr. Dong-Hun Chae, Principal Research Scientist of the Quantum Electricity and Magnetism Metrology Group at the Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS), Korea, and Dr. Yasutaka Amagai, Team Leader of the Quantum Sensing Research Team at the Global Research and Development Center for Business by Quantum-AI Technology (G-QuAT), National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ), AIST. Their insightful lectures and expertise greatly enhanced the learning experience.

The summer school was attended by a distinguished group of metrology professionals from across the Asia Pacific region including Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
