Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Head of Electrical Metrology Department, was invited to attend the ASEAN-UK Engineering Biology Inward Mission to the United Kingdom, held on 18-20 March 2025. This project was sponsored by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
This mission aimed to provide participants with insightful understanding of technical standards and biology, and to serve as a forum for the Southeast Asia and the UK to exchange their perspectives and impact on responsible innovation and engineering biology. The program was inclusive of three-day key activities as follows:
- A Workshop on technical standards and biology
- A dialogue on responsible research and innovation
- Meetings and visit to the UK Engineering Biology Mission Hubs
Additionally, Dr. Sivinee participated in a series of seminars and case studies conducted by expert trainers, academia, and industry representatives. These sessions included in-depth discussion on how to build on existing practices and exploring new opportunities.
By attending this activity, Dr. Sivinee has engaged an invaluable opportunity for networking among colleagues and experts from the UK engineering biology community, fostering the future collaboration, as well as strengthening NIMT’s capability to develop metrology and biometry toward global challenges.
