NIMT visits the Sufficiency Economy learning centre at the 17th Military Circle, Fort Surasi Kanchanaburi Province

Deputy Director of the NIMT, Mr.Anusorn Tonmueanwai together with NIMT members attended about the King Bhumibol’s Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy and visited the Sufficiency Economy learning centre at the 17th Military Circle, Fort Surasi Kanchanaburi Province.

The centre applied the philosophy consisting of the concept of 3 Forests 4 Benefits, Water is Life, Loss is Gain, the New Theory, and the Sufficiency Economy.

The centre is opening for the people to visit and gain their knowledge following the King’s philosophy.

Liquor Distillery Organization (LDO) visits Chemical Metrology & Biometry Department

NIMT, Phatum Thani – Dr. Charun Yafa, Head of Chemical Metrology & Biometry Department welcomed Mr. Somkhruan Jarusombat, Deputy Director of Production Department, Liquor Distillery Organization (LDO), under the Excise Department and his staff to the Chemical metrology & Biometry laboratory visit.

LDO, the only manufacturer and distributor of pure alcohol in Thailand, is interested into the alcohol product development which refers to Reference Material for laboratory research and testing.

Chemical Metrology & Biometry Department, NIMT is the reference material manufacture under trade name “TRM” (Thailand Reference Material). TRM production processing follows requirement of ISO guide 34 : General requirements for the competence of reference material producer. TRM is traceable and has passed measurement comparison to NIMT labs that are international accepted.

The visiting’s objective was to discuss for interrelated collaborations in the future and lab visit on Sepember 29, 2020.

NIMT expert talks about “Metrology for Justice and Enforcement Standards”  to the Royal Thai Police

Mr. Pairoj Rattanangkul, Group leader of Acoustics and Vibration Group, was invited as an expert speaker on the topic “Metrology for Justice and Enforcement Standards” that lectured to the Royal Thai Police’s participants in the practical seminar about “The Efficient Development of Royal Thai Police’s Science, Technology, Research and Innovation”.

Training on the Verification of the basic Measuring Instrument in Chemistry.

NIMT Training Division, Business Development Group arranged a training on the verification of the basic measuring instrument in Chemistry that gave a lecture to the participants from public, private and industrial sectors by Dr. Nongluck Tangpaisarnkul, Group Leader of Inorganic Analysis, the Department of Chemical Metrology & Biometry.

The objectives of the training was to give knowledge and understanding the usage of the basic Measuring Instrument in Chemistry. And also would be able to set its verification criteria. This training held at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITECH), Bang Na on September 23, 2020.

Annual PA to Director of NIMT

The subcommittee of Performance Appraisal (PA) to Director of NIMT took an opportunity to officially meet and talk with the Director’s subordinates and all of NIMT officers in order to ask about the Director’s managerial competencies. It was one part of the total appraisals. As this reason, the Department of NIMT’s Human Resources had to arrange an opened stage for all officers to exchange with the subcommittee on September 22, 2020 at the NIMT Central Administration building, Phatum Thani province.

NIMT attends the virtual EGM-7 meeting.

Dr.Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Head, Electrical Metrology Department, together with Mr. Natthaphon Jarat and Ms. Thanakporn Nonthachart, the International Relations Officer (IRO) attended the EGM-7 meeting that was held on 22 Sep (1300 – 1700 hrs) and 23 Sep 2020 (1300 – 1700 hrs) by using online meeting platform (ZOOM).

Due to the circumstance of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been effected to travel between the countries, the National Metrology Center of Cambodia (NMC) as this year’s host country coordinated and arranged the online meeting. The proposed EGM-7 agenda as follows;

All members of the EGM and ASEAN Secretariat attended the meeting and shared their experiences on the COVID-19 in own country. The next host country for the EGM-8 would be Brunei Darussalam.

Royal Thai Police visits NIMT on Raising the Law Enforcement Potential with Metrology

Deputy Director of NIMT, Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai together with NIMT heads of the metrological departments, Group leaders and staff welcomed Commander of Research Division, Department of Strategy, the Royal Thai Police Pol. Maj. Gen. Dr. Zenith Samransamruadkit, and his entourage in the occasion of attending the meeting on Raising the Law Enforcement Potential with Metrology and also discussed for mutual collaborations in the coming future. Additionally, the commander and his entourage visited the metrological labs.

The future expectation between NIMT and the Royal Thai Police’s Research Division aim to integrate potentials to strengthen the measurement and law enforcement that will ensure to the measuring instrument and its process. The meeting held at the Phadung Matra building, Phatum Thani province on September 22, 2020.

NIMT Director meets and expresses the gratitude for MHESI Permanent-Secretary on the occasion of retirement.

Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT together with Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai, Deputy Director of NIMT and Flg. Off. Uthai Noranim, Assistant Director of NIMT, on Monday of 21 September 2020 at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Phayathai district, Bangkok, met and presented a retirement gift for Assoc. Prof. Dr. Soranit Siltharm, Permanent-Secretary of MHESI to express a gratitude for his contributions as Permanant-Secretary of MHESI and Vice-Chairperson of the National Metrological Committee.

Director gives a panel talk at the NESP Innovation Fair 2020

Nakhon Ratchasima – Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Science Park Promotion Agency (SPA), Ministry of MHESI and joined with the Northeastern Science Park Network to organise “NESP Innovation Fair 2020” : The Fair of Innovation workings show from the Northeastern Science Park Network 2020 between 17 – 20 September 2020 at the 1st Fl. Promotion plaza, the Nakhon Ratchasima’s Central department store. For this fair, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of MHESI, Prof. Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul presided over the opening ceremony. Rector of SUT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerapong Pairsuwan together with his executives and representatives from both public and private sectors including to the educational institutes.

By this opportunity, Mrs. Ajchara Chareansook, Director of NIMT attended the ceremony as well and gave a panel talk on the topic “Driving the people’s industrial and quality of life in the Lower Northeastern Region with Metrology”. The panel speakers came from various sectors joined the talk concerned to give knowledge to work with metrology to drive the industrial and raise the people’s level of the quality of life to the entrepreneurs and the people.

NIMT organises the meeting for the Project of Incubator and Certification on Medical Metrology Academic Ability.

Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai, Deputy Director of MINT as a chairperson opened the meeting of the Project of Incubator and Certification on Medical Metrology Academic Ability. This project is one sub-project of the Building Entrepreneur Strength on the Thai Medical Industrial Manufacturing and Service with Measurement Standards.

The project’s working group took a group photo with all participants in front of Matra Dhamrung building, NIMT.

According to the cabinet resolutions, the cabinet has agreed with the framework of Economic and Social Recovery Policies to assign the involving agencies submitted their project’s proposals to stimulate economic recovery to the normal. Due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) as the national measurement standards and measurement standards method foresees a necessary to support the medical measurement standards or medical metrology to Thailand’s medical laboratory. Because of this reason, NIMT has organized the projects as mentioned to arrange trainings and advisory to the laboratory. NIMT will support and transfer medical measurement standards’ values including to its measurement standards’ methods which NIMT has originated.

Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai, Deputy Director of MINT as a chairperson of the meeting together with his team member introduced themselves and their project’s details to participants.

The participants paid their attention to the meeting.

NIMT will evaluate and certify the academic ability and also the comparison of measurement result management. NIMT will organise activities to support service users to submit for ISO17025 certification. Besides that, NIMT will start public relations to public perception nationwide. Lastly, this project will be a preparedness for the laboratory registering submission that reaches to the requirements of Department of Health Service Support, the Medical Engineering Division. The meeting held at NIMT’s Matra Dhamrong building, Phatum Thani province.
