Director gives a panel talk at the NESP Innovation Fair 2020

Nakhon Ratchasima – Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Science Park Promotion Agency (SPA), Ministry of MHESI and joined with the Northeastern Science Park Network to organise “NESP Innovation Fair 2020” : The Fair of Innovation workings show from the Northeastern Science Park Network 2020 between 17 – 20 September 2020 at the 1st Fl. Promotion plaza, the Nakhon Ratchasima’s Central department store. For this fair, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of MHESI, Prof. Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul presided over the opening ceremony. Rector of SUT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerapong Pairsuwan together with his executives and representatives from both public and private sectors including to the educational institutes.

By this opportunity, Mrs. Ajchara Chareansook, Director of NIMT attended the ceremony as well and gave a panel talk on the topic “Driving the people’s industrial and quality of life in the Lower Northeastern Region with Metrology”. The panel speakers came from various sectors joined the talk concerned to give knowledge to work with metrology to drive the industrial and raise the people’s level of the quality of life to the entrepreneurs and the people.

NIMT organises the meeting for the Project of Incubator and Certification on Medical Metrology Academic Ability.

Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai, Deputy Director of MINT as a chairperson opened the meeting of the Project of Incubator and Certification on Medical Metrology Academic Ability. This project is one sub-project of the Building Entrepreneur Strength on the Thai Medical Industrial Manufacturing and Service with Measurement Standards.

The project’s working group took a group photo with all participants in front of Matra Dhamrung building, NIMT.

According to the cabinet resolutions, the cabinet has agreed with the framework of Economic and Social Recovery Policies to assign the involving agencies submitted their project’s proposals to stimulate economic recovery to the normal. Due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) as the national measurement standards and measurement standards method foresees a necessary to support the medical measurement standards or medical metrology to Thailand’s medical laboratory. Because of this reason, NIMT has organized the projects as mentioned to arrange trainings and advisory to the laboratory. NIMT will support and transfer medical measurement standards’ values including to its measurement standards’ methods which NIMT has originated.

Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai, Deputy Director of MINT as a chairperson of the meeting together with his team member introduced themselves and their project’s details to participants.

NIMT will evaluate and certify the academic ability and also the comparison of measurement result management. NIMT will organise activities to support service users to submit for ISO17025 certification. Besides that, NIMT will start public relations to public perception nationwide. Lastly, this project will be a preparedness for the laboratory registering submission that reaches to the requirements of Department of Health Service Support, the Medical Engineering Division. The meeting held at NIMT’s Matra Dhamrong building, Phatum Thani province.

NIMT holds hands a joint agreement between 4 institutes on the Excellence Center for Thai Herbal Product Innovation (ECTHPIn)

Director of NIMT Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook signed a joint MOU agreement between Director- General Of Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medical Dr. Marut Jirasetasiri, President of Mahidol University Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., Deputy CEO Acting Director of TCELS Mr. Chairat Sangchan on the Excellence Center for Thai Herbal Product Innovation (ECTHPIn).

This MOU will be a cooperation centre for exchange their knowledge and human resource development that includes a joint Thai herb product research and development. Moreover, It will raise a marketing on NQI innovative-based Thai herb product.

Conductivity Meter Calibration Training

NIMT’s Training Division organized a training on the topic “Conductivity Meter Calibration” that lectured to the participants from public and industrial sectors by Dr. Wiphada Hongtani, and Ms. Thararat Tangjit, from the Chemical Metrology and Biometry Department, the inorganic analysis group.

The aim of this training was; the participants would be able to calibrate the meter, and evaluate the measuring uncertainty. The training made at the NIMT’s Central Administration building, Phatum Thani province, on September 11, 2020.

The main aim of this training was to understand the details on the Calibration Certification. The participants would be able to apply it for quality controlling. The training was held at the National Institute of Metrology (Thailand)  NIMT, Phatum Thani province on September 10-11, 2020.

Training on the verification of Temperature Measuring Devices

NIMT’s Training Division arranged a training on “The verification of Temperature Measuring Devices” that lectured to the public, private and industrial sector participants by NIMT Metrologist, Professional Dr. Oijai Ongrai and Metrologist, Practitioner Mr. Amorntep Leekriangkrai, Temperature Scale Dissemination and Humidity Group, Thermometry and Optical Metrology Department.

The training aimed to gain knowledge on the principle and caution of the thermometers. The important thing is that, the participants would be able to utilise them, understand the devises’ calibration and apply the devises’ calibration certification effectively. They also would be able to verify the thermometers by Ice Point.

EGAT pays a visit to NIMT

Mr. Wirun Laopornpichayanuwat, Acting Head of Mechanic Metrology Department courtesy welcomed Mr. Yongyouth Srichai, The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT)’s Director of Demand Side Management and Social Affairs Division, together with his staff paid a visit to the Mechanic and Electrical Department’s Laboratory.

EGAT’s Demand Side Management and Social Affairs Division is a main agency to promote the electrical energy saving campaign, and support the development of high electrical device technologies and inexpensive. The campaign is running a campaign “Lebel No.5” that has to set regulation and standard testing including random testing. 

The aims of this visit were to gain knowledge about metrology and to develop skills for EGAT personnel on August, 27 2020 at NIMT, Phatum Thani province.

NIMT trains the Calibration of Digital Multimeter

Training Division, Corporation and Partnership Development Group arranged a training on the topic “Digital Multimeter Calibration” that was lectured by Mr. Kongsak Thongboon and Mr. Adithep Jang-On, Electrical Power and High-accuracy Electrical Measuring Instrument Metrologists.

This training aimed to the participants would be able to calibrate Digital Multimeter of 4/1-2 to 61-2 digits by the direct comparison and the standard comparison that the accuracy is higher method to Multi-function Calibration. The participants would be able to know the measurement techniques & effects, evaluate the uncertainty, write calibration procedure, and finally interpret the calibration certificate. The training was held at the central administration department, NIMT Technopolis office, Phatum Thani province.

NIMT arranges “Thread Ring Gauge & Thread Plug Gauge” training

Training Division, Corporation and Partnership Development Group arranged a training on the topic “Thread Ring Gauge and Thread Plug Gauge Calibration” that was lectured to the interested public, private and industrial sector participants by precision engineering metrologists Mr.Yodying Muakngam and Ms.Witchuda Chitkosol from Dimensional Metrology Department. 

This course aimed to train the participants for the Thread Ring Gauge and Thread Plug Gauge’s usage, maintenance, calibration and uncertainty evaluation. The course was held at the Phadung Matra building, NIMT head office, Phatum Thani province between 24-26 August 2020.
