Mr.Wirun Laopornpichayanuwat, Head of Mechanical Metrology Department and Miss Panada Panpetch Metrologist of Primary Thermometry Standard Group, Thermometry and Optical Metrology Department gave coaching online on the Internal Audit of General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (E) Batch 2 to the participants from various sectors. The coaching was online from the 3rd Fl meeting room, Developing measuring standards to accredit the rail system Building, NIMT, Pathum Thani province on January 26 – 27, 2023.

Deputy Director of NIMT Mr. Anusorn Tonmuenwai opens the seminar on “Preparing for ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 Laboratory Quality System Certification”

On 4 – 5 October 2022, Mr. Anusorn Tonmuenwai, Deputy Director of NIMT, presided over the opening of the academic seminar on “Preparing for ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 Laboratory Quality System Certification”. It is one of the activities in the project “Developing a pressure calibration manual to guide technical audits and a network of pressure calibration laboratories for the industry under the research plan for capacity promoting and building, and expand the scope of NQI that has been granted by the office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO). The objective of this seminar was to develop the potential of pressure calibration laboratories and to provide a central standard for technical assessment guidance for pressure calibration laboratories including to build a network of national pressure calibration laboratories and collect data on high-pressure measurement applications in the domestic high-pressure food processing industry.

The first day of the seminar (October 4, 2022) had a lecture on the topic “Scope, Definition and Requirements of Laboratory Quality System according to ISO/IEC 17025: 2017” by Mr. Wirun Laopornpichayanuwat, Head of Mechanical Metrology and Ms. Panatda Panpetch, metrologist senior professional level from Primary Temperature Standards Group, Thermometry and Optical Metrology Department. The second day of the seminar (October 5, 2022) also featured the same topic. It furthered sharing experiences in preparing for submitting its application in the field of Calibration of Pressure Measuring Instruments. It was lectured by Flg.Lt. Tawat Changpan, former NIMT’s Head of Mechanical Metrology Department. The seminar was held at Fortune 3-4 Meeting Room, Grand Fortune Hotel, Bangkok.

Training on Monitoring of Quality Systems in the Laboratory, Class 2

NIMT Corporation and Partnership Development Group organised a metrology course on the topic of “Monitoring of Quality Systems in the Laboratory, Class 2” to educate the trainees who are interested in applying the knowledge for requesting laboratory quality systems according to ISO/IEC 17025. The trainees came from both public and private sectors. Trainers for this course were Head of Mechanical Metrology Department Mr. Wirun Laopornpichayanuwat and metrologist of Primary Thermometry Standard Group Ms.Panatda Panpech. After this course, the trainees gained knowledge about General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (E) as well as monitoring of laboratory quality systems which is able to apply for their workplace systematically. The course was held by virtual meeting at NIMT Pathum Thani province.

Training on Laboratory Quality System ISO/IEC 17025:2017(E) Batch 3

Corporation and Partnership Development Group under the Policy and Strategy Department organised a training on Laboratory Quality System ISO/IEC 17025:2017(E) Batch 3, training by Acting Head of Mechanical Metrology Department Mr Wirun Laopornpichayanuwat and Professional Primary Thermometry Standard Metrologist Ms Panatda Panpech to  various participants from public and private sectors. The training focused on making well-understanding about the meaning and requirements of the system. Additionally, it was a preparation for the practical implementation of the system. It was an online training from Matra Dhamrong Building, NIMT during April 29-30, 2021.

NIMT online training on ISO/IEC 17025(E) (Batch 4)

NIMT’s Corporation and Partnership Development Group typically organized an online training on ISO/IEC 17025(E) Batch 4 between 26-27 January 2021 at NIMT, Pathum Thani.

The trainers of the course were experts with vast theoretical knowledge and many years of experience in the respective fields; Mr. Wirun Laopornpichayanuwat, Head of Mechanical Metrology Department and Ms. Panatda Panpech, Primary Thermometry Standards Metrologist. The course has received an overwhelming response from the private and public sectors.

After achieved this course, participants would be able to understand well on the requirements of laboratory quality system and would be ready for the practical preparation of ISO/IEC 17025(E) at their laboratories.

Acting Head of Mechanical Metrology Department receives a prestigious Khon Dee Sri Or Wor certificate 2020

On August 21- 2020, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) was held the ceremony of prestigious certificate for Khon Dee Sri Or Wor 2020 (Literally, “Good Man for MHESI” in English). The MHESI minister Adj. Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas presided as the chairperson. On this honour event, Mr. Wirun Laopornpichayanuwat, acting head of mechanical metrology department has received the certificate at Bhumi Bordin 6th floor conference room, Analytical Chemistry Training building, the Department of Science Service (DSS), Ramd VI, Bangkok.

UKAS LAB 14 Calibration of Weighing Machines Batch 2

Training Division, the Corporation and Partnership Development Group organized a training on “UKAS LAB 14 Calibration of Weighing Machines Batch 2” that was lectured to the public and private sector participants by  the acting head of mechanical metrology department Mr.Wirun Laopornpichayanuwat, and primary mass standard and relation quantities metrologist Mr. Monchai Mitaree. By the end of the training, the participants should be able to understand the foundation of mass and weighing machines, and classify the machines. Moreover, the participants should be able to describe the factors that affected the calibration of the machines and examine them before using.
