On October 26, 2022, Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT, presided over the opening of the seminar on “Developing potential of auditors in medical devices” to promote and encourage the auditors in the field of medical devices in Thailand. The auditors will be able to support the quality system in the medical device field which is an important mechanism to be Thailand’s Medical Hub. Today, the seminar was separated into two topics. The first one was talking about experiences in auditing medical device laboratories that was spoken by Mr.Komsan Youngcharoon, Standard Officer Senior Professional Level. Another one was talking about roles and functions of Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) to drive NQI in medical industrials by Mrs. Uthumporn Kaewnamdee, Standard Officer Senior Professional Level from TISI. The participants to the seminar were the officers working in the medical device laboratories from both public and private sectors. The seminar was hosted by NIMT at Phadung Matra building, NIMT, Pathum Thani province.

On October 27, 2022, it was taught about electrical Power Calibrator; voltage, current, resistance, volume and traceability that was spoken by FS1 Voraphol Phapukdee, Metrologist, Senior Professional Level. The seminar was hosted by NIMT at Phadung Matra building, NIMT, Pathum Thani province as well.

NIMT handovers Infrared thermometer tester to Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital, Navamindradhiraj University

Photo: Deputy Director of NIMT Mr.Anusorn TONMUANWAI (left) and Vajira hospital, Vice Dean Asst.Prof.Anusaeng Jitsomkasem (right) carried the project banner in front of the meeting room at NIMT, Pathum Thani.

Deputy Director of NIMT Mr.Anusorn TONMUANWAI and his staff members handovered the infrared thermometer tester to the representatives of Vajira hospital, Vice dean Asst.Prof.Anusaeng Jitsomkasem and Chief of Medical tool office Ms.Somsakul Boonkasem at NIMT Pathum Thani on 22 July 2021.
It is NIMT’s free of charge service under the project of non-contact infrared thermometer calibration for medical institutes and public units. The tester was invented and developed by NIMT metrologists for fieldwork use. Many thermometers being used might be in error and need to calibrate. Generally, the thermometer should be calibrated at NIMT. But, in this situation, it takes much time to do that. The tester will facilitate and increase productivity to screen infected patients. With this project, NIMT can help to serve and support the government closely to reduce the COVID-19 patients in the country.

Mr. Anusorn TONMUANWAI, Deputy Director of NIMT, opened the seminar and gave a lecture as a speaker today. The seminar is one project under the Incubator and Certification on Medical Metrology Academic Ability and running as a sub-project of the Building Entrepreneur Strength on the Thai Medical Industrial Manufacturing and Service with Measurement Standards.

NIMT is the key measurement standards organisation of Thailand and authorising to support and transfer the metrological knowledge to the Thai medical industrial sectors and underline to certify the medical lab, medical devices towards the requirement of ISO/IEC 17025.

Participants in the seminar room.

Measurement standards that have been certified by NIMT would be able to make sure the accuracy of the devices unquestionably. During the pandemic of COVID-19, NIMT public and shares the metrological knowledge and system nationwide.
