Infrared Thermometer Calibration Training

NIMT Business Development Group organized a training on Infrared Thermometer Calibration for Infrared Thermometer, Infrared Calibrator or Blackbody Furnace. The training participants came from the public and private sectors. The training trainers were Dr. Athikom Manoi, Head of Primary Thermometry Standard Group as a main trainer and Mr. Phichet Wongnut, Thermometry and Optical Metrologist Senior Level as an assistant trainer.

The participants have been trained about measuring radiation temperature and understood the principle of Infrared thermometer. Moreover, the participants would be able to estimate the value of uncertainty, issue and interpret the calibration certificate. The training was held at the 3floor meeting room, the building of developing measurement standards to support the rail system development, NIMT, Pathum Thani province between 26 – 27 January 2022.

It is NIMT’s free of charge service under the project of non-contact infrared thermometer calibration for medical institutes and public units. The tester was invented and developed by NIMT metrologists for fieldwork use. Many thermometers being used might be in error and need to calibrate. Generally, the thermometer should be calibrated at NIMT. But, in this situation, it takes much time to do that. The tester will facilitate and increase productivity to screen infected patients. With this project, NIMT can help to serve and support the government closely to reduce the COVID-19 patients in the country.
