Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NIMT and Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital

The MoU was signed by Director of NIMT, Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital, Asst.Prof.Dr.Jakrawut Maneerit. The purpose of this MOU is to strengthen the cooperation between both organizations in developing health metrology academic ability and the internal auditor development.

NIMT and the faculty staff members joined as a witness onto signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

NIMT and the Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital have always with good relationship in medical metrology cooperation. There are projects joining together against COVID-19 and personnel development in metrology. With this MoU both organizations will continuously push the Thailand’s medical metrology in advance to the international recognition.

NIMT handovers Infrared thermometer tester to Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital, Navamindradhiraj University

Deputy Director of NIMT Mr.Anusorn TONMUANWAI and his staff members handovered the infrared thermometer tester to the representatives of Vajira hospital, Vice dean Asst.Prof.Anusaeng Jitsomkasem and Chief of Medical tool office Ms.Somsakul Boonkasem at NIMT Pathum Thani on 22 July 2021.
It is NIMT’s free of charge service under the project of non-contact infrared thermometer calibration for medical institutes and public units. The tester was invented and developed by NIMT metrologists for fieldwork use. Many thermometers being used might be in error and need to calibrate. Generally, the thermometer should be calibrated at NIMT. But, in this situation, it takes much time to do that. The tester will facilitate and increase productivity to screen infected patients. With this project, NIMT can help to serve and support the government closely to reduce the COVID-19 patients in the country.

NIMT sends an expert to ensure the measurement accuracy and calibration of high precise weighing for injection equipment COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca.

National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) sent a professional metrologist in primary mass standards and related quantities metrologist, Mr. Monchai Mitaree to ensure the measurement accuracy and calibration of high precise weighing for COVID-19 vaccine injecting equipment AstraZeneca at Vajira Hospital, Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital, Navamindradhiraj University on April 9, 2021.

In this regard, Associate Professor Anan Manomaipiboon, M.D., as acting president of the university met and talked with Mr.Monchai Mitaree about the significance of balance calibration which is able to examine the injecting equipment of COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca. It enhances confidence in the measurement result that builds a safety and effectiveness to the vaccine recipients.

Moreover, Mr.Monchai minutely described to the hospital staff members about the fundamental examination of the balance. Before using the balance, it must conduct internal calibration first. Consequently, he gave the calibration method to the staff. After that, he calibrated the balance as EURAMET calibration Guild No.18 to measure the errors of indications. NIMT and Navamindradhiraj University have signed the mutual cooperation in medical research, medical metrology innovation development and research, especially, metrology knowledge-based against the COVID-19 that two institutes are highly concerned about. They contribute and lead metrology and medical against the COVID-19 in Thailand.
