NIMT provides Metrology Online Training to strengthen student’s potential to the labor market as the wisdom arms coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.

NIMT and 22 Universities enhance the strength of wisdom to students and people who are interested into metrology. Stimulating to develop the metrology curriculum in accordance with the current labour market. NIMT will non-stop to build knowledge to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic by Online training. The students can learn more and extend their knowledge beyond a textbook to become an intergraded scientist.

Online training for the students

Director of NIMT Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook was one of speakers who honorarily joined the metrology training project mentioned that the training was arranged as a new normal way to nationwide students. The project was conducted to every sector such as the universities, public and private organizations to develop and publicize the metrological knowledge. The knowledge will generally be recognized and easy to access.

The educational sector become a big target for metrology knowledge building and upskilling that will prepare people for the future of manufacturing and service sectors. NIMT initially agrees to expend cooperation with 22 universities scattering across the central and regional of Thailand by adding metrology to their curriculum.

Due to the outbreak of COID-19 is still high concerned, NIMT adjusted the courses to online on “Introduction to Metrology for Scientist” for Burapha University’s students during March 24 – 26, 2021. And another course on “Introduction to Calibration and Metrology measuring instrument for Chemical and Physical Scientist” for the students from Faculty of Sciences, Prince of Songkla University during March 29 – April 9, 2021. The courses were online from NIMT, Pathum Thani.

NIMT and Vajira hospital develop a prototype “Weight scale hospital bed for bedridden patients, disabled persons and elderlies”

Ms. Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT and Mr.Anusorn Tonmuaenwai, Deputy Director of NIMT met the executives of the faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital, Navamindradhiraj University; Asst. Prof. Anusaeng Jitsomkasem, Deputy Dean, Asst. Prof. Chakrawut Maneerit, Director of Vajira Hospital and Dr. Yutthana Apichatbutra, M.D., Deputy Director to hand over “Non-contact infrared thermometers” which have calibrated by NIMT under the project of the non-contact infrared thermometer calibration services for the medical service centers and public service units as a free of charge activity on March 29, 2021 at Bejaratana building, Vajira Hospital.

Both institutes discussed to develop a prototype innovation research about weight scale hospital bed for bedridden patients, disabled persons and elderlies. The bed is as medical device research belonging to Vajira Hospital that the bed reaches standardization, manufacturable, applicable and reasonable cost. The manufacturing applies the principle of metrology to be approved and certified accuracy from the beginning of upstream. Besides that, it reduces government spending. It saves government budget to be not bear the burden of high manufacturing cost, but it gets good quality products.

NIMT Director meets and expresses the gratitude for MHESI Permanent-Secretary on the occasion of retirement.

Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT together with Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai, Deputy Director of NIMT and Flg. Off. Uthai Noranim, Assistant Director of NIMT, on Monday of 21 September 2020 at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), Phayathai district, Bangkok, met and presented a retirement gift for Assoc. Prof. Dr. Soranit Siltharm, Permanent-Secretary of MHESI to express a gratitude for his contributions as Permanant-Secretary of MHESI and Vice-Chairperson of the National Metrological Committee.

NIMT congratulates to New MHESI Minister, Adj. Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas

Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT, together with her executives gave a fruit basket to join in the congratulation extended to Adj. Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas on the occasion of the royal command, accounting him to the new Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) at the MHESI head office, Rama VI Rd., Phaya Thai district, Bangkok on August 21, 2020.

The director of NIMT gave a fruit basket to the new Minister.

The director of NIMT talked to the new minister Adj. Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas about recent advance in NIMT’s metrology.

Deputy director and Assistant director of NIMT joined the congratulation together.

NIMT heads of metrology department reported about NIMT outstanding activities.

The minister was born on 20 January 1954. He earned Bachelor of Science (Medical Technology), Chulalongkorn University, Master degree (Political Science): The University of Georgia, USA, and Doctor of Philosophy (Political Science), The Trustees of Columbia University, USA.

NIMT and Pollution Control Department (PCD) signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

Mrs.Ajchara Chareonsook, Director of NIMT Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and Mr. Pralong Dumrongthai, Director General of Pollution Control Department (PCD) Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) signed a MOU to collaborate together in the field of metrology at PCD on 30 July 2020.

It would be beneficial to various organizations to take action where they are working relevant with the Environmental Issue Management and Emission Testing for Stationary Sources. With this MOU, we will be able to set one standard nationwide and utilize it to create new innovation to ensure our measurement system is relying to national and international standards.

For this reason, there are four parts of cooperation consisting of 1) Air Quality Measurement 2) Emission Testing for Stationary Sources 3) Water Quality Measurement, and 4) Sound Level Measurement.

NIMT will support the mission of PCD that is essential to use an accurate scientific device and data or example collection method because the accurate method affects measurement’s accuracy and credibility on pollution level measurement and investigation. Therefore, it will be able to evaluate severe environmental issue situations. Thus, its achievements are parted to four levels; 1) measurement and calibration instrument development, and measurement credibility building 2) measurement method development 3) measurement method and action establishment ,and 4) measurement potential staff development

NIMT signs an agreement on Healthcare

Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT and staff attended a seminar on “Decode Thai Healthcare to International Standards” that organised by Department of Science Service (DSS) at Berkeley Hotel Pratunam Bangkok on July 16, 2020.


During the seminar, Director of NIMT signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with 15 organisations from 3 ministries. The aims of this agreement commit all allies to form the framework and guideline for Thailand’s medical innovation development to commercialise towards MHESI’s Healthcare Reinvention policy.
In this occesion, Mr. Ong-ard Panyachatiraksa, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) was a witness to the agreement.

NIMT and SUT sign the MoU for cooperation in education and academic exchange.

Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT signed a MoU with Assoc. Prof. Dr.Weerapong Pairsuwan, Rector of  Nakhon Ratchasina’s Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) on 14 July 2020 at NIMT, Technopolis Klong Ha, Pathum Thani province to collaborate in the area of education and academic exchange. The MoU between both sides will be basis for discussions around staff development and metrological curriculum management including to mutual technology transfers for education and industrial promotions in the approaching future.

Training for Ventilator Analyzer under the theme “Medical Hub”

Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT opened a training for Ventilator Analyzer under the Project of Potential Industrial Competitive Enhancement on Regional Medical Hub with International Standards. Participants came from private and public sectors to attend this training. A trainer was Application Manager, Mr. Watcharapong Thongratkaew from Draeger Medical (Thailand) Ltd. The training was held at NIMT, Khlong Ha, Pathum Thani province on 13 July 2020.

Main purposed of this training was to draft a guideline for medical calibration, measurement, and traceability.

Director welcomed participants and expressed the purpose of the training.

Participants from both private and public sectors.
