National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) : NIMT, Ministry of Science and Technology arranged The Asia-Pacific Metrology Programme : Mid-year Meetings and Related Activities 2016 during June 6-10, 2016. On the last day, the morning session was NIMT Laboratory Tour including the laboratories in Chemical Metrology and Biometry Department, Electrical Metrology Department, Dimensional Metrology Department, Mechanical Metrology Department and Thermometry Metrology Department. The afternoon session was Cultural visit in Ayutthaya province. The objective of this activity today was to give an opportunity to the participants to visit the laboratories in NIMT at Phadungmat building and cultural visit in Thailand at Ayutthaya province.

Dr. Pichet DURONGKAVEROJ, Minister of Science and Technology presided over the press conference under the topic ” Thailand Innovation ” organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Office of Science and Technology Agency (NSTDA) together with Office of the Prime Minister, Bureau of the budget, Ministry of Finance and The Comptroller General’s Department to create opportunities for entrepreneurs to Thailand can sell their product or service that are the innovation, quality and performance standards in order to replace imports from overseas. NIMT also has been listed on the Thailand Innovation under the title “Thailand Reference Material: TRM”. The function was held at the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Bangkok.

Mr. Prayoon SHIOWATTANA, NIMT Director, presided over a training under the topic of “Orientation for NIMT Staff” so that staff are aware of NIMT history, adapting the model under the same core values, “I AM NIMT”. In addition, it is the knowledge that employees need to know including rules, regulations and benefits to ensure that employees are aware that they are part of the organization including the promotion of good governance: the spiritual awakening for the mind to prevent corruption as well.
