NIMT Director, Mrs.Ajchara CHAROENSOOK together with Mr. Anusorn TONMUEANWAI, NIMT Assistant Director and NIMT delegation meet with Mr. Suchat Sinrat, Deputy Director General, Department of Internal Trade (DIT) for opening a discussion on technical cooperation in development of the “Type Approval” measuring instrument. Nevertheless, both parties agreed to undertake an observation for their target measuring instruments before the agreement on technical cooperation in future.

Training for KaoYai National Park Staffs (June 2, 2017)
Acoustic and Vibration Metrology, Dimensional Metrology Department, NIMT organized training event in collaboration with Pollution Control Department and Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation for Kaoyai National Park staffs in the subject “Vehicle Sound Measurement ” during 1-2 June 2017 at Kaoyai National Park with the aim of providing accuracy measurement knowledge and how to properly use and maintenance the tools.

Mrs. Ajchara CHAROENSOOK, NIMT Director together with Mr. Anusorn TONMUEANWAI, NIMT Assistant Director, welcomed Professor Dr. Somnuk TANGTERMSIRIKUL, Director, and Dr. Stanislav S. Makhanov from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University on the occasion of signing Memorandum of Understanding between National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) : NIMT and Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology : SIIT under collaborative research, which includes interesting research topics for both parties, coordinated seminars, conferences, or joint scholarships for SIIT courses for NIMT staff. The objective of this MoU was to promote the research and education of both organizations. The function was held at Phadungmat building, NIMT, Pathum Thani province.

Optical Comb Seminar (April 7, 2017)
Mr. Anusorn TONMUANWAI, Assistant NIMT Director, presided over a seminar under the topic “ Optical Comb, principle and its applications” by guest speaker, Dr. Manuel PESCHER, International Sales Coordinator, Menlo Systems GmbH, Germany. This seminar arranged by Nano Metrology Group, Dimensional Metrology Department. The objective of the seminar was to give knowledge to the interested participants on Introduction of Wavelength company and Products Overview, Menlo Systems Overview : History and Products including Introduction to Optical Frequency Comb technology from Optical Reference System (ORS) to Full Optical Frequency Comp setup. The function was held at Phadungmat building, NIMT, Pathum Thani province.

ASEAN NEXT 2017 visiting NIMT (March 10. 2017)
Mr. Prayoon SHIOWATTANA, NIMT Director, welcomed the ASEAN NEXT 2017 Group that hosted by Office of International Cooperation (OIC), Ministry of Science and Technology, to host ASEAN NEXT 2017 on “Creating Smart Community through STI Collaboration” which is the coordination between NIMT and Office of Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology to visit NIMT laboratories. The objective of this visit was to give knowledge and understanding of metrology to participants who attend the program and also to build up a good relationship win key international agencies. Flow Laboratory, Mechanical Metrology Department, arranged a training under the topic of “Training on Bell Prover Calibration” to NIMT Metrologists who work in Flow Laboratory, Mechanical Metrology Department, gave a lectured by guest speaker, Dr. Rainer Kramer, Head of Working Group 1.42, Gas Meters from Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt : PTB and Mr. Alois Ehrler, CEO, ep-e.com company, Germany. The objective of this training was to give more knowledge on Sonic Nozzle, Rotary Gas Meter, Subsonic Venturis, Laminar Flow Elements, Ultra Sonic Gas Meter, Turbine Gas Meter and Wet Gas Meters. NIMT Teaming measurement of Thailand National Flag for Guinness World Records (25 November 2016)
Mr. Anusorn TONMUENWAI, Head of Dimensional Metrology Department and NIMT staffs joined measurement of the large Thailand Flag for the purpose of celebrating 100 years anniversary of Thailand National Flag and thereafter to set up at leaning center at Chiangrai province, north of Thailand. The result of the flag measurement is 63.5 metres length and 41.9 metres wide. By the way, the large size of this flag will be presented to Guinness World Records for the most largest national flag in the world.
