FLG.OFF.Uthai  NORRANIM, Assistant Director and Dr. Charun  YAFA, Head of Chemical Metrology and Biometry Department together with metrologists welcomed Dr. Roman Szumski, Vice President from National Research Council Canada and his team on the occasion of metrology discussion and visiting NIMT laboratories at Phadungmat and Martthamrong building, NIMT, Pathum Thani province.

National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) : NIMT, The Physikalisch – Technische Bundesanstalt : PTB, Asia Pacific Metrology Programme : APMP and Asia – Pacific Legal Metrology Forum : APLMF jointly implemented a project Metrology – Enabling Developing Economies in Asia (MEDEA) under the concept “CABUREK” (“Capacity Building Technical and Scientific Organizations Using Regional Experiences and Knowledge”).  This year, NIMT was honored to host the workshop under the topic “Awareness Raising for Metrology”.  The objective was to develop scientific metrology, measurement and law enforcement in developing countries in Asia.  There were 40 participants from Metrology Institute of Asian countries.  The function was held at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao, Bangkok.

 Mrs. Ajchara CHAROENSOOK, NIMT Director together with her executives welcomed Mr. Jin Wan CHUNG from Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) and his team.  On this occasion they also visited NIMT Laboratories and then had football match between NIMT and KRISS.  The objective was to coordinate metrological cooperation and tighten the relationship between NIMT and KRISS.  The result of the football match was NIMT 3 : 3 KRISS.  The function was held at Phadungmat Building and Technopolis, Pathum Thani province.

Pressure Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics Group, Mechanical Metrology Department arranged the activity “Concluding Workshop on ILC Hydraulic Pressure Standards under MEDEA Project : Hydraulic pressure (10 to 100) MPa comparison exercise”.  The objective was to summarize the results of this project, as well as to organize workshops for metrologists who participate from Asian countries at the pressure and vacuum laboratory.  The function was held at Phadungmat building, NIMT, Pathum Thani province.

Mrs. Surat LEEUDOMWONG, Metrologist, Senior Professional, Acoustics and Vibration Group together with metrologists. welcomed visitors from The Macau Institution of Acoustics, Supreme Acoustics Research Limited, Hong Kong, Ramboll Hong Kong Limited (RHK), Geonoise Asia Co., Ltd. and academician from universities in Thailand.  The objective of this visit was to visit  NIMT Acoustics and Vibration laboratory and discussion on various collaboration in the future.  The function was held at Acoustics and Vibration Metrology Laboratory Building, Rama VI Road, Bangkok.

Mr. Anusorn  TONMUANWAI, Assistant NIMT Director welcomed participants who attended ASEAN NEXT 2018 Workshop in the field of Mass, Hardness, Force, Torque, Density and Pressure.  The objective was to encourage partnerships in science, technology and innovations developed between ASEAN.  The function was held under the theme “Rising STI Networking for innovation ASEAN” at Phadungmat building, NIMT, Pathumtani province.

Mrs. Ajchara CHAROENSOOK, NIMT Director together with NIMT metrologists team and participants from abroad such as Bangladesh, Fiji, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates and Thailand joined APMP-DEC Leadership Training on 4-8 December 2016 at Well Hotel Sukhumvit 22 , Bangkok. The honorary keynote speakers by Dr. Toshiyuki Takatsuji, Director, Research Institute for Engineering Measurement, National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) Dr.Chingis Kuanbayev from the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM). Dr. Philip Dearden – Head of Center from the Center for International Development and Training UK and Mrs. Ajchara CHAROENSOOK. The Leadership training is designed to provide new leaderships or future leaders of APMP-DEC NMIs, including new TC Chairs and Chair-elect depending on place availability, who have shown potential for leadership with the skills, knowledge and tools to help them participate in the mechanisms of the CIPM MRA. The training provides participants with an understanding and enabling them to be highly effective in their involvement in the CIPM MRA requirements relating to comparisons, CMC review process, use of the KCDB, strategic plan and focus group, and the role of international organizations by combining theoretical and practical perspectives and bringing important personal contributions to the further development to their country.
