Opening a new service: Pressure Metrological Traceability Chain of Ventilator Machine

A ventilator, aka “Breathing machine” is a machine that some COVID-19 patients need help to breathe. It is used to aid the function of the lungs to blow air into the lungs, helping to maintain proper levels of oxygen in the blood.
NIMT realizes that the standard measurement for the machine is highly important. In order to reduce a risk from any errors and treatment. Therefore, NIMT opens a new calibration service for the ventilator so far.

NIMT Metrology technology supports anti-COVID medical devices to the hospital

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, a number of patients are rapidly increasing worldwide. The patients are generally admitted to the hospital. Not only the patients are rick to the COVID-19, but medical workers in the hospital face to a high risk to infected with the COVID-19 as well.

Assistant Professor Dr.Pharuhat Tor-Udom, MD., Assistant Financial Director of Thammasart University hospital and Deputy Director of NIMT Mr.Anusorn Tonmueanwai

With this important reason, National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) recognizes this issue and initially made a cooperation with Thammasart University hospital, Phatum Thani province, as public agencies under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), to invent accurate metrological measurement devices in the international level laboratory for this medical support.

Deputy Director of NIMT Mr.Anusorn Tonmueanwai, and Assistant Director of NIMT Flg.Off. Uthai Noranim and NIMT metrologists

As said above, NIMT has invented and adapted 3 types of medical devices; 1) 2 patient room and field-hospital UV-C sterilizers that are working well in specific areas such as patient beds.

Patient rooms and field hospitals UV-C sterilizers

Medical Portable Germicidal Lamp

Hospital sterilizers

2) 2 ambulance UV-C sterilizers: In order to make sure the ambulances are aseptic and safe, the sterilizers have been tested that the light intensity is suitable for the ambulance size. All works well with the ambulances. Moreover, it can be applied for other types of rooms such as restrooms and small patient rooms.

and, 3) 15 UV-C sterilizers that adapted from microwaves or Microwave sterilizers by putting germicidal lamps inside the microwaves. All instruments have been tested to electrical safety towards the international standards.
