NIMT continues cooperation with KU Sri Racha on ISO/IEC 17025 accredited

NIMT Director Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook visited the Faculty of Science Kasetsart University Sri Racha campus (KU Sri Racha) to follow up the cooperation project that two organizations have a commitment; the project of calibration laboratory development under the MoU between NIMT and KU. Director had a meeting with The Dean of the Faculty of Science Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattarawadee Sumthong Nakmee to discuss about the project and the next metrological activities which will implement together. Moreover, Director saw the laboratory that NIMT helped KU to accredit according to ISO/IEC17025 in Mass. It is a showcase that NIMT had well done to the university. Today, Deputy Director Mr.Anusorn Tonmuanwai, Dr.-Ing. Narudom Noulkhow and Mr.Tassanai Sanponpute were accompanied with.

Thermometry and Optical Metrologists test UVC Sterilization box for Bangsaphan Industrial and Community Education College

Bangsaphan Industrial and Community Education College (ฺBSPC) invented a heat and ultraviolet light sterilizer box (UVC sterilizer) to the contest on Vocational Education Innovation Awards 2021 – 2022 which will be organized by Bureau of Vocational Education Research and Development and Innovation Research for Vocational Education (IRVE) Commission. It is the national contest for new generation invention among 77 Vocational Education Colleges nationwide.

A Student, Bangsaphan Industrial and Community Education College who is an inventor took a group photo with NIMT metrologists.

In order to confirm metrological traceability and standards value of this invention, the box has been brought to the department of thermometry and optical metrology to UVC lamp efficiency test and collect data before submit the contest. The box was tested by thermometry and optical metrologists at NIMT Pathum Thani province on 20 January 2022.

IRO organizes online meeting on PM10 and PM2.5 from Haze smog and visibility effect in Thailand

International Relations Office (IRO) Organisational Communication Group as  project manager, hosted the monitoring meeting on the project of PM10 and PM2.5 from Haze smog and visibility effect in Thailand, between NMT and National Institute of Metrology of China (NIM China) under financial supported by Mekong-Lanchang Cooperation Special Fund 2019. NIMT metrologists, International Relations Officers and NIM China experts joined the meeting. The meeting was held online from NIMT, Pathum Thani province on 23 December 2021.

The Center for Environmental Metrology expert Dr. Xu Xiao presented NIM’s Calibration of PM2.5/PM10 Monitors. Dr. Patcharapol Gorgitrattanagul, NIMT metrologist presented his progress on NIMT PM2.5 concentration calibration system. Dr. Padipat Wongthep, Senior Metrologist presented his collected data and related work-study. And Ms. Thanakporn Nontachart presented general outcome such as major goals, tasks, timeframe, interested topics for online technical training and expected outcomes. The meeting objectives were overviewing the activities, planning the coaching online course, and the activities throughout the 2022. The project will be end by December 2022 and apply the outcomes for the benefit of both nations. The meeting schedule as follows;

NIMT signed MOU with Thepsatri Rajabhat University

At Thepsatri Rajabhat University, Lopburi province, on 17 December 2021, NIMT and Thepsatri Rajabhat University (TRU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dedicated for research and education collaboration in metrology, science and technology. The signing took place at Thepsatri Rajabhat University, Lopburi province. In this event, NIMT was represented by Director of NIMT Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook and TRU was represented by the President of TRU Asst. Prof.Chintana Vechmee. Through this collaboration, both organizations will support each other in enhancing the quality of higher education for metrologists, lecturers and students in the area of metrology, science and technology.

On this occasion of signing the MoU, NIMT and TRU had a meeting to plan the direction to make the collaboration. Besides that, Director of NIMT and her NIMT staff members visited the student tools laboratory inside the campus. NIMT gave and advised to the laboratory officers how to use and apply metrology such as calibrating, maintaining, and correct using. Making awareness of metrology in Thailand is one of NIMT duty. Under the MoU, both of organizations will add-on knowledge and exchange experiences to drive Thailand’s education especially, in metrology.

Gas Analysis laboratory organizes a training on Gas Analyzer calibration

NIMT business development group has held a training on the topic of Gas Analyzer Calibration between 2 -3 December 2021 at NIMT office, Pathum Thani province. The objectives of the training were to provide guidance on how to calibrate gas analyzer, and estimate the uncertainty values for calibration. Participates would decide to choose and mixture gas as the standards of the tools. Participants of this training came from public and private sectors, included the industrial sectors. The metrologists of this training were Mr.Soponrat RATTANASOMBAT and Mr.Arnuttachai WONGJUK from Gas Analysis laboratory, Chemical Metrology and Biometry Department. The participants gave questions to NIMT metrologists to make well understanding throughout the training.

Congratulations for Dr.Jariya Buajarean on her APO workshop achievement

At NIMT, Phatum Thani on 19 November 2021, Deputy Director of NIMT Mr.Anusorn TONMUANWAI congratulated Head of Dimensional Metrology Department Dr. Jariya BUAJAREON for achieving the 21-CP-39-GE-WSP-A: Workshop on Digitization of SMEs in the Manufacturing Sector from Asian Productivity Organization (APO). Dr.Buajareon participated the workshop online as Thailand’s representative together with other nominated representatives around the Asia-Pacific region countries during 28 – 30 September 2021.

Dr.Buajareon participated in the whole three-day workshops and shared her opinions relevant into the metrology to push Thailand’s SMEs. Her opinions were interesting and the good practices for the other countries.

The aims of the workshop were three focus points;
1. Discuss the latest, most effective methods for digital transformation of SMEs.
2. Share best practices of digitization strategies for manufacturing SMEs.
3. Develop a framework for NPOs to guide and fast-track the digitization of SMEs in APO member countries.

The APO is an intergovernmental organization located in Tokyo, Japan to increase productivity in the Asia-Pacific region through multi-cooperation. The APO contributes to the sustainable socioeconomic development of the region through policy advisory services, acting as a think tank, and undertaking smart initiatives in the industry, agriculture, service, and public sectors.

This the workshop was the important stage that NIMT was able to make an understanding and presented the metrology driving SMEs in Thailand.

NIMT joins Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy Academic Exhibition 2019

On Wednesday, November 17, 2021, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the “Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy Academic Exhibition 2021” between 16 – 17 November 2021 at Chulachomklao Royal Military academy, Nakhon Nayok province. On this occasion, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn watched NIMT exhibition. Dr. Charun Yafa, Assistant Director of NIMT and staff members welcomed Her Royal Highness at the opening ceremony.

Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy Academic Exhibition is organized to contribute a research included to promote and extend an academic collaboration between Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy, educational organization, and public and private agencies. As of 2021 academic year, there were 27 organizations joined the exhibition. NIMT presentation was a topic on “Very high frequency measurement for 5G communication era” that was divided to 3 projects; 1) Time Synchronization through Digital and Internet Network, 2) Electrical power in high frequency regimes and 3) Global Navigation Satellite System, (GNSS)

NIMT and the Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital have always with good relationship in medical metrology cooperation. There are projects joining together against COVID-19 and personnel development in metrology. With this MoU both organizations will continuously push the Thailand’s medical metrology in advance to the international recognition.
