“MHESI stimulates a manpower in field of Metrology responding to worker needs in EEC”

In general, the Industrial growth can characterize a country’s economic structure and growth potential. The goal of the country is the competitive ability. Producing knowledgeable population and building skills to use and access a rapidly changing technology in an era of technology and innovation competitiveness for the better productivity are paramount importance. The Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation (MHESI) is one of the mechanisms driving the country’s economic and social development. It consists of the educational sectors, research and innovation agencies and all standards related departments are committed to bring their specialized knowledge and expertise to support the quality population to reach the big goals of the country. In the end, Thailand will become a developed country in 2037.

Adjunct Professor Dr.Anek Laothamatas, the Minister of MHESI

Adjunct Professor Dr.Anek Laothamatas, MHESI Minister, said “The National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT), which is the public organization under the MHESI, is responsible for developing measurement standards of the country to ensure the accuracy of all measuring equipment in the country that has been used in the manufacturing and service sectors that affect to the economy and the quality of life. Because it is the specific skills and professional career. The minister as the chair of the National Metrology Committee catches a sight of the benefits from metrology knowledge to be a part of the metrology manpower. In order to prepare for working in the industrial sectors that still need knowledgeable and measuring skills workers that meet the needs of target industries, especially in the EEC by integrating the metrology institutes with the educational institutions that both of them are under the supervision of MHESI. Those institutes must build the country’s manpower together to create the quality workers to support the current worker productivity and the future workers (students) to be having both of the quality of skills and academics in metrology that transfer to the manufacturing. Increasing the competitiveness of entrepreneurs in the country and the aims of creation the metrology skills and knowledgeable workers in the manufacturing and education sectors, workers will be able to apply metrological technology to help improve the efficiency of the production process and reduce the production cost from reproduction. It reduces the cost of re-testing the product and reduce the cost of increasing the unnecessary raw materials. It will increase the competency of competitiveness of the country”

Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook was teaching ““Metrology for Industry”.

Director of NIMT, Mrs.Ajchara Charoensook revealed that NIMT is ready to bring the knowledge of measurement standards, the correct using of measuring instruments, measurement techniques, and quality management in line with international measurement standards. It can enhance skills for engineering and science students who focus on working in the manufacturing and service sectors. Because of this, NIMT provides a course “Metrology for Industry” that is a non-degree for undergraduate students. The students will get right knowledge about the measuring instruments and the related international standard in both of theory and practice. It will be started concretely in academic year 2022. Presently, NIMT signed MoUs with 9 campuses of Rajamangala University of Technology and will extend to cover to 38 Rajabhat Universities. The target of students to be trained on this course is 4,000 students who will work in the EEC in the coming future.
