NIMT attends the 39th APMP General Assembly and Related Activities (APMP 2023)
Pol.Lt.Gen. Pornchai Suteerakune, Director of NIMT, accompanied NIMT executives and staff to attend the 39th APMP General Assembly and Related Activities (APMP 2023) hosted by National Metrology Institute (NIM), China from 27 November to 3 December 2023 in Shenzhen, China. The overall program consisted of a symposium, General Assembly (GA), APMP NMI Directors’ Workshop, Technical Committee (TC), Developing Economies Committee (DEC), Executive Committee (EC), EC-CC Meeting and Focus Group (FG). These meetings and related activities provided a platform for participants to promote exchange of knowledge and technological advancement, leading to the development of measurement standard to be recognized in this region and worldwide.

NIMT attends award ceremony in the 2023 AIRLAB Microsensors Challenge
Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai, Deputy Director, Dr. Charun Yafa, Assistant Director and 2 NIMT Metrologists attended the 2023 AIRLAB Microsensors Challenge. This event was a part of France-Thailand Year of Innovation 2023. It was honored by H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, the Ambassador of France to Thailand and Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt, the Governor of Bangkok to give opening remarks. The program included lectures, a panel discussion and the challenge results and awards ceremony. For the awards ceremony, Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai presented the award for the Best accuracy – PM2.5 – Indoor (under €500) and Most accurate multi-pollutant sensor – Indoor (under €500) to the winner – AirGradient ONE from Thailand. Dr. Charun Yafa presented the award for the Outdoor Air – Awareness to the winner – AirGradient Outdoor from Thailand. It was held both onsite at the Alliance Française in Bangkok and online at Airparif headquarter in Paris on 23 November 2023.

NIMT welcomes JMIF for the discussion on metrology system
Pol.Lt.Gen. Pornchai Suteerakune, Director, Mr. Anusorn Tonmueanwai, Deputy Director, Dr. Charun Yafa, Assistant Director and NIMT executives warmly welcomed the delegates from the Japan Measuring Instruments Federation (JMIF) to visit NIMT for the discussion on metrology system in Thailand and Japan, future cooperation and other issues of mutual interest. For this visiting, NIMT arranged laboratory tour to mass and flow, length and wavelength standard laboratories and to the customer service section. Mr.Anusorn Tonmuanwai opens the NIMT’s meeting on Quality system management reviews (ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 17034, ISO 9001)
NIMT’s Quality working section under the Correspondence and meeting working group arranged a meeting on Quality system management reviews (ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 17034, ISO 9001). Mr.Anusorn Tonmuanwai, Deputy director of NIMT, was a chairperson of the meeting. He has announced to the meeting to acknowledge the appointing for Dr.Jariya Buacharoen to the position of Quality manager. The meeting was held at NIMT’s Phadung Matra building, Pathum Thani province on 8 February 2023.

Internal training for NIMT managerial officers on “Change & Conflict Management for Excellent Performance Program”
Dr.Charun Yafa, Assistant Director of NIMT presided to open over the internal training on “Change & Conflict Management for Excellent Performance Program” to managerial NIMT staff members. A trainer was Dr.Surachai Kositbovornchai, Director of StepPlus designed topics of training to make easy to understand and able to develop both change management and conflict management in the organization. The training was held at the NIMT’s Matra Dhamrong building, Pathum Thani province on January 23 – 24, 2023.

Dr.Sivinee Sawadi-Aree welcomes QTFT to visit quantum lab
Dr.Sivinee Sawadi-Aree, Head of Electrical Metrology Department welcomed Asst.Prof.Dr.Thaned Pruttivarasin and his staff from Quantum Technology Foundation (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (QTFT) to visit NIMT’s laboratories. For this visiting, the staff will gain their knowledge on metrology for quantum technology. The quantum technology will be a spotlight to develop Thailand’s future industrials. It was held at NIMT’s Rail system Developing building, Pathum Thani province on January 20, 2023.

Dr. Monthol Homklintian coaches online on Measurement control system
The NIMT training section organized metrology training online course on “Measurement control system according to requirements of ISO 9001 ISO/IEC 17025 ISO 14001 and ISO 18001” to the participants from public and private sectors included to the industrial sectors as well. All participants are expected to understand Thailand’s metrology system and National Quality Infrastructure (NQI). Moreover, the participants give priority to metrological traceability according to ISO 9001 ISO/IEC 17025 ISO 14001 and ISO 18001. This online training was trained by Dr. Monthol Homklintian, Acting Group Leader of Primary Electrical, Time and Frequency standards. Dr.Monthol is an expert teaching both theory and practice professionally. The training was online from NIMT Pathum Thani province on January 19 – 20, 2022.

Mr.Jeniphathn Ya-Anan commemorates King Ramkhamhaeng Day at Ramkhamhaeng University
Mr.Jeniphathn Ya-Anan, the NIMT central administration manager, attended as the representative of the MHESI Permanent Secretary Office to commemorate King Ramkhamhaeng Day which is observed every year on the 17th of January at the Royal Monument of King Ramkhamhaeng the Great, Ramkhamhaeng University, Hua Mak, Bangkok on January 17, 2023.
King Ramkhamhaeng or Phor Khun Ramkhamhaeng Maharaja is the first Thai monarch styled as Maharaja, or “the Great”. Among his many achievements, King Ramkhamhaeng the Great succeeded in uniting the regions of the Kingdom of Thailand. In the year 1283, he also created the Thai alphabet, which is still in use today over 700 years later.
