The laboratory is responsible for measuring torque and application of torque knowledge in tool calibration. At present, the laboratory maintains a standard primary torque generator for torque calibrations of 1 - 1000 Nm, as well as the implementation of national benchmarking by research. The laboratory also provides the calibration service for hand torque tools and keep expanding the measurement capabilities as can be seen in pricelist on NIMT website.

For Force measurement, the laboratory currently maintains the primary standard weight generator of 0.1 to 500 kN with the resolution of 35 to 80 ppm. This can be traced back to the primary mass, time and length according to International Standard Unit (SI).
