Dr. Siwinee Sawatdiaree welcomed Assistant Professor Dr. Sirinan Kulchat from PMU-B

On 12 October 2022, Dr. Siwinee Sawatdiaree, Head of Electrical Metrology Department together with NIMT staff members welcomed Assistant Professor Dr. Sirinan Kulchat, Deputy Director, Program Management Unit for Human Resources, Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B) together with her project monitors. On this event, Dr. Sirinan followed up a progress of the project under frontier research and building an ability for the quantum technology era. Today’s activity was held at Phadung Matra building, NIMT Pathum Thani province.

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn chairs the 1st/2022 meeting of the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has overseen the 1st/2022 meeting of the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn via electronic media. On March 1, 2022 Her Royal Highness chaired the online meeting located at Sa Pathum Palace, Bangkok. On this occasion, NIMT officers Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Head of Deaprtment and Dr. Piyaphat Phoonthong, Metrologist Professional Level attended the meeting. In the previous year, the foundation created cooperation with the world class science institutes. It was the great opportunity for Thai scientists to exchange and co-research for example, Atomic clock project between NIMT and Center for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore is a Research Centre of Excellence hosted by the National University of Singapore. Presently, two institutes are joining the research and developing the atomic clock which is the NQI for Thailand. NIMT develop and show metrology competency in equivalent to the world class research institute.

NIMT discusses with Rohde & Schwarz for Public-Private Partnership on the development of metrology and measuring technology

Dr.Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Head of Electrical Metrology Department along with her electrical metrologists welcomed the management team and staff from Rohde & Schwarz, Thailand and Singapore branches which is a German leading company in measuring and testing technology, and global wireless communication. Dr.Sivinee discussed cooperation on the public and private partnership in the Railway Signaling and Communication Protocol with the company. Then, Dr.Sivinee herself took the team to visit the laboratory of the Electrical Metrology Department  at NIMT Pathum Thani province on 10 February 2022.

Seminar on Metrology and its application with Thailand’s mobilization to the international.

Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree, head of NIMT’s electrical metrology department was invited to give her lecture on “Thailand’s mobilization by Metrological system” in the seminar on “Metrology and its application with Thailand’s mobilization to the international”. The seminar was hosted by the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI).

The seminar built and supported well understanding about roles and duties, and the direction of radiation metrology laboratory research and development of Thailand that raise Thailand will become the centre of the ASEAN primary radiation metrology. It was held at  Swissotel Le Condorde hotel Bangkok on 18 December 2020.

NIMT attends the virtual EGM-7 meeting.

Dr.Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Head, Electrical Metrology Department, together with Mr. Natthaphon Jarat and Ms. Thanakporn Nonthachart, the International Relations Officer (IRO) attended the EGM-7 meeting that was held on 22 Sep (1300 – 1700 hrs) and 23 Sep 2020 (1300 – 1700 hrs) by using online meeting platform (ZOOM).

EGM members and ASEAN Secretariat on the EGM-7 online meeting platform (ZOOM)

Due to the circumstance of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been effected to travel between the countries, the National Metrology Center of Cambodia (NMC) as this year’s host country coordinated and arranged the online meeting. The proposed EGM-7 agenda as follows;

  2. Mid Term Review
  3. Metrology support for COVID-19
  4. EGM Roadmap
  5. ACCSQ WG3-EGM Meeting

All members of the EGM and ASEAN Secretariat attended the meeting and shared their experiences on the COVID-19 in own country. The next host country for the EGM-8 would be Brunei Darussalam.

NIMT joined the 6th Meeting of the Expert Group on Metrology (EGM-6) in Vietnam

Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook, NIMT Director, Flg.Off. Uthai Norranim, Assistant Director, Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree, Head of Electrical Metrology Department and the International Relations Officers (IRO) joined the meeting between 16-17 September 2019 in Ha Long City, Vietnam.

The Expert Group on Metrology is established in 2011, and is part of the Science and Technology Infrastructure and Sub-Committee Development (SCIRD), under the ASEAN Science and Technology Committee (The ASEAN COST), NIMT is one leader of the ASEAN EGM founding members.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Re-Signing Ceremony between National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) and National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT)

Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook, NIMT Director, and Mr. Mizuhiko Hosokawa, NICT Vice President, in accompany with Flg.Off. Uthai Norranim, NIMT Assistant Director, Dr. Sivinee Sawatdiaree,  Head of  Electrical Metrology Department, Mr. Tassanai Sanponpute, Head of Mechanical Metrology Department and the staffs of the of their respective institutes, re-signed the MOU to collaborate in the field of information and communications technology on 4 September 2019 in particular with respect to;

(1) generating, keeping, comparing, and disseminating time and frequency,

(2) atomic frequency standards,

(3) time scale and

(4) time and frequency transfer.

In the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between NIMT and NICT held last 4 September 2019 at National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Tokyo, Japan

Both institutes also agree that the range of collaboration shall be not limited only to the research topics as mentioned ,but may be extended whenever required to other topics of mutual interest relevant to the field of information and communications technology.
