NIMT sends an expert to ensure the measurement accuracy and calibration of high precise weighing for injection equipment COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca.

National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) (NIMT) sent a professional metrologist in primary mass standards and related quantities metrologist, Mr. Monchai Mitaree to ensure the measurement accuracy and calibration of high precise weighing for COVID-19 vaccine injecting equipment AstraZeneca at Vajira Hospital, Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital, Navamindradhiraj University on April 9, 2021.

In this regard, Associate Professor Anan Manomaipiboon, M.D., as acting president of the university met and talked with Mr.Monchai Mitaree about the significance of balance calibration which is able to examine the injecting equipment of COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca. It enhances confidence in the measurement result that builds a safety and effectiveness to the vaccine recipients.

Moreover, Mr.Monchai minutely described to the hospital staff members about the fundamental examination of the balance. Before using the balance, it must conduct internal calibration first. Consequently, he gave the calibration method to the staff. After that, he calibrated the balance as EURAMET calibration Guild No.18 to measure the errors of indications. NIMT and Navamindradhiraj University have signed the mutual cooperation in medical research, medical metrology innovation development and research, especially, metrology knowledge-based against the COVID-19 that two institutes are highly concerned about. They contribute and lead metrology and medical against the COVID-19 in Thailand.

UKAS LAB 14 Calibration of Weighing Machines Batch 2

Training Division, the Corporation and Partnership Development Group organized a training on “UKAS LAB 14 Calibration of Weighing Machines Batch 2” that was lectured to the public and private sector participants by  the acting head of mechanical metrology department Mr.Wirun Laopornpichayanuwat, and primary mass standard and relation quantities metrologist Mr. Monchai Mitaree. By the end of the training, the participants should be able to understand the foundation of mass and weighing machines, and classify the machines. Moreover, the participants should be able to describe the factors that affected the calibration of the machines and examine them before using.
