NIMT and Pollution Control Department (PCD) signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

Mrs.Ajchara Chareonsook, Director of NIMT Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and Mr. Pralong Dumrongthai, Director General of Pollution Control Department (PCD) Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) signed a MOU to collaborate together in the field of metrology at PCD on 30 July 2020.

It would be beneficial to various organizations to take action where they are working relevant with the Environmental Issue Management and Emission Testing for Stationary Sources. With this MOU, we will be able to set one standard nationwide and utilize it to create new innovation to ensure our measurement system is relying to national and international standards.

For this reason, there are four parts of cooperation consisting of 1) Air Quality Measurement 2) Emission Testing for Stationary Sources 3) Water Quality Measurement, and 4) Sound Level Measurement.

NIMT will support the mission of PCD that is essential to use an accurate scientific device and data or example collection method because the accurate method affects measurement’s accuracy and credibility on pollution level measurement and investigation. Therefore, it will be able to evaluate severe environmental issue situations. Thus, its achievements are parted to four levels; 1) measurement and calibration instrument development, and measurement credibility building 2) measurement method development 3) measurement method and action establishment ,and 4) measurement potential staff development
