Dr. Charun Yafa opens of the workshop under the Supersonic Wave Metrology Club on “Electrical safety testing according to international standards: Therapeutic ultrasound and related instruments”

Dr. Charun Yafa, Assistant Director of NIMT, presided over the opening of the workshop under the Supersonic Wave Metrology Club on “Electrical safety testing according to international standards: Therapeutic ultrasound and related instruments” that was organised by the Ultrasound Laboratory, Acoustics and Vibration Group. This workshop was divided into two sections: The first section was tough by Dr. Patchariya Petchpong, Professional Metrologist. NIMT has published knowledge on the preparation of standard documents, methods for medical devices calibration, and therapeutic ultrasound according to the IEC 60601-2-5. This section focuses on building metrological traceability for medical devices in Thailand as the international standards.

The second section was the knowledge transfer of electrical safety testing according to international standards IEC 60601-1 and IEC 62353 for ultrasound therapy. A part of the testing that is defined in the ultrasound calibration methods manual was taught by Mr. Ponsorn Sengthan, Treat Med Co., Ltd. This workshop was held both online and on site at the Acoustics and Vibration building, Yothi Rd, Bangkok.

Training for Ventilator Analyzer under the theme “Medical Hub”

Mrs. Ajchara Charoensook, Director of NIMT opened a training for Ventilator Analyzer under the Project of Potential Industrial Competitive Enhancement on Regional Medical Hub with International Standards. Participants came from private and public sectors to attend this training. A trainer was Application Manager, Mr. Watcharapong Thongratkaew from Draeger Medical (Thailand) Ltd. The training was held at NIMT, Khlong Ha, Pathum Thani province on 13 July 2020.

Main purposed of this training was to draft a guideline for medical calibration, measurement, and traceability.

Director welcomed participants and expressed the purpose of the training.

Participants from both private and public sectors.
