Under the organizational structure of the Chemical Metrology and Biometry Department, The Bio-analysis (BA) group contains four main sections. The laboratory has the objective to provide the accurate measurement and traceability in BA. BA laboratory is now developing the measurement and standards for nucleic acid and genomic measurement.

We have extensive expertise in development of validated methods for characterizing DNA using a range of complementary techniques, including quantitative real-time (qPCR) and digital PCR (dPCR). In proteomics we are aim to develop SI-traceable reference method capabilities for the quantification as well as validated methods for protein purity assessment. The reference method for quantification is mainly based on isotope dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS) using a labelled protein as the internal standard. To established the capabilities of measurement through field, BA laboratory is also focusing on participates in the international laboratory comparison to prove the potential and capability. BA aim to produce reference material needed in the country in compliance with the quality system of ISO 17034 and ISO 17025 to ensure international traceability, certified reference materials. Furthermore, the laboratory will offer training courses in specialized knowledge of bio-analysis metrology. All activities are performed to support and maintain national metrology infrastructure development of bio-analysis measurement.
