Dr. Chutimon Arayawechkij, from National Institute of Metrology, Thailand (NIMT), has been invited as a speaker for the EGM Bi-Monthly Training Session 4 on 20 August 2026, an online training programme focusing on mass metrology for ASEAN participants.<\/p>\n
Dr. Chutimon will deliver a training session entitled \u201cCalibration of Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments (NAWI) in Accordance with EURAMET Calibration Guide No. 18.\u201d The session will provide participants with both fundamental knowledge and practical approaches to the calibration of non-automatic weighing instruments (NAWI), with particular emphasis on calibration procedures, measurement uncertainty evaluation, and interpretation of calibration certificates.<\/p>\n
The training programme will cover key topics including:
\n– Introduction to Mass Metrology and the role of accurate weighing
\n– Characteristics, classification and technical specifications of NAWI
\n– Calibration guidelines and procedures in accordance with EURAMET Calibration Guide No. 18
\n– Identification and evaluation of measurement uncertainty sources
\n– Uncertainty associated with calibration and weighing results
\n– Calibration certificate preparation and interpretation
\n– Practical implementation in mass metrology laboratories<\/p>\n
The programme is particularly relevant to mass metrology laboratories across ASEAN, providing participants with practical knowledge that can support the improvement and harmonisation of calibration practices.<\/p>\n
Through this training, NIMT continues to contribute to regional metrology capacity building, technical knowledge exchange, and the harmonisation of measurement practices, supporting the development of reliable and internationally comparable measurement services across ASEAN.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
